A new neutral AoE. Maybe better than it looks, but probably worse than wild pyro anywhere that it could slot in.
May see play if demon hunters continue to dominate because of that 2 damage breakpoint, but most classes with viable slower decks have better boardwipe tools.
This post is discussing the wild format.
5 health and it's 4 mana... Might see play in highlander decks i guess? This generally has to survive a turn to make use of it's effect, unless you have a 0-mana spell in your hand. The only deck that MIGHT consider using this is Libram Paladin (Not Pure version, and because of 0 mana Libram of Wisdom) This might replace, or get used alongside [card[Wild Pyromancer? (Even though the Wild Pyromancer + Equality combo is 2 mana cheaper)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Consistency though, you will have more activators.. more pyromancers.. but this actually survives..
there's libram of justice for similar effects to equality +consecration.
Seems like a decent card in Highlander decks as a medium-cost board clear, but we'll have to see what kind of spells are made to properly assess the value of a lot of these Spellburst cards.
So this is largely like a neutral version of Arcane Flakmage that can use any spell instead of just secrets, with the trade off that it only happens once and affects your minions as well. Not a bad deal in my opinion.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
So, this spellburst keyword is a 1-time effect? If that's true, basically you will have to spend 4 mana and whatever extra for the spell and do 2dmg to all and then you will have 2/5 kinda weak body on board going in to the mid to late game. Some classes that fight hard for the board like shaman or pala can maybe use it, but it's kinda big 'maybe'.

Could end up in some meme control rogue, but would it trigger if you Shadowstep it?
Seems fine but a bit overpriced especially since it hits your own minions and needs a spell cast prior. It's kind of like explosive potion or whatever from gadetzan but on a body.
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
I could see it being kind of useful for some classes I guess? For the classes that don’t have much board clears, they’d also have the cheap spells to run to be able to trigger this. The effect’s not really worth it much though to be honest
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
It's exactly what it should be as a neutral AoE. It's not powerful, but certain classes/decks will find a use for it.
Seems pretty nuts if you think about it. It's a decent turn 4 for any slow deck, can be comboed with any 1-mana spell for a quick boardswing and can just...exist...as a threat for later, preventing your opponent from committing to the board.
Still need to know whether Spellburst needs the minion to be alive to activate or if it's a "play" effect.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
This actually seems really good. With a cheap spell, it can basically be viewed as a Volcanic Potion + a 1 mana 2/5. And for any class, nonetheless. Classes that struggle with AoE will love it even more.
I don't know if this card will be any good, but I like the fact that it exists. There is now a decent, neutral AoE for any class that needs one. And that is a nice thing to have access to.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Shaman cheap AOE spells are salivating. Plop this card down and a 0 mana Beakered Lightning or something like that for 3 AOE damage all around.
I honestly think that this is a great card. A neutral hit to all small minions in a meta where a number of classes can get a free or low cost spell in their hand at any given time.
First thought is I think this will find a home in priest and warlock, classes whose control style don't really create wide boards since this card hurts your side as well.
As others have mentioned, this could also find a home in a control-oriented libram pally as Libram of Justice activator.
Nice card, especially for Rogue since they lack board clears but have many cheap spells to trigger this. Could also work well with discounted Librams. Like a Consecration with a body.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Will likely see play only in rogue, priest or mage. Spellburst likely only triggers once, so its not like pyromancer or risky skipper.
In rogue because of Backstab (call it a smaller, double value Starfall), and in mage because mage really needs some AoE given that its game plan is usually not tempo. In priest because of Apotheosis.
Maybe a silent counter to spell druid? not too bad. But its a tech card, nothing more.
I feel in a different time this would have been a very powerful tool in HS, but a neutral board clear that leaves a 2/5 body is entirely too fair for modern HS. It's not a bad card and has potential to see some play in Highlander archetypes.
I'm not sold on this. But in the right deck with some cheap spells, why not? Maybe a new removal tool for Warlock?
Neutral AoE is precisly what rogue needed. Tremble before us and our cheap spells!
Seems okay as a neutral AOE for a deck that has plenty of low cost spells. But it also seems like a typical showcase card to highlight a new mechanic - find, but probably not strong enough to see consistent play.
Nice catch Brandon, I was going to say I don't like this card since it has bad stats and the activator also requires more mana, but could work in a libram deck.
one of the more versatile neutrals. Will see play. Tacking volcanic potion onto a spell is very powerful
4 mana 2/5 isn't terrible, what will make her standout is any deck that can utilize cheap spells to clear an aggressive board.
Rogues may finally have a board clear with her and their 0 mana spells, and any class that discounts spells like Shaman, Mage and Druid could see this girl as well.
She's absolutely terrible in Arena, though. there's better 4 drops for their stats.
Amazing tool for classes that lack a boardclear in the midgame. Pair it with a cheap spell and it's [Hearthstone Card (Consecrate) Not Found] on a stick. Control rogue incoming?
With its potential to combo with a cheaper AoE, this is a board clear on a stick
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Nice card. Is it just me, or does everything so far look just okay? I haven't seen anything I think is terrible or busted.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Realistically, this'll do damage on Turn 5. Is 2 damage to all minions on 5 good? Sometimes, but not most of the time. It's on the weaker side of "just fine" methinks. Might see some use in Arena, who knows?
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
Looks decent and will probably find a place in at least some highlander decks. The fact that it does not damage itself is pretty good too.

It's an ok neutral AoE card. On turn 4 (with a 0 mana spell) or 5 (with a 1 mana spell) it's a Consacration. Rouge and Druid can benefit from this card
2 card combo (minimal) to clear small unit seems great. Not many will play, but it will get the job done
Could be good for classes without aoe
Really nice card to end my comment spree. I think this will be part of some high tier dekcs
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
This card will find a home somewhere and I bet it looks awesome in gold.
Not as bad as it looks. I think it will make the cut for some control decks.
Nice highlander tech
I swear when i read Wretched Tutor, i thinked it going to be some Diabolic Tutor-type card like in MTG. Nonetheless, very good card, neutral AOE is always good in general.
Played Heartstone since beta. Never reached Legend but rank 1 two or three times, Spell Hunter is my soul. LOR Enthusiast. MTG Resentful cuz im bad.
Hablo español por que soy de Argentina, boludo!
Update 2021: I dont play Hearthstone anymore, and i dont regret. Playing LOR and lovin' it. Discard Aggro is best deck!
Good effect, really bad stats for the cost
All hail the banshee queen.
Powerful card.
I'm not sure about this one. It is neutral AoE so I'm probably sleeping on this card. Rogue, for one, could use it.
I thought this was going to be strong upon first release, then I saw other cards from the set and was not so impressed, then I saw it in action and changed my mind again...
I think this will be good in the right situations, but not an obvious power house of the set.
Fairly sticky minion for the cost, good ability to counter aggro decks that have weaker minions but you need a cheap spell to capitalise on the tempo swing.
Can be a mini board clear with anything cheap early on, or make sure any decent sized sweeper deletes the whole board, maybe even leaving him behind. Not flashy, but useful for sure. Not all commons need to be trashy pack fillers.
I do not know if this is good or bad
-=alfi=-
Terrible card. Maybe an Arena card?
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
Very powerful aoe tool, mainly in Paladin thanks to discounted Libram of Justice
ah yes, your class was lacking aoe? Not anymore...
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Good minion, stats are okay, comes with a spellburst mini board clear.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
This can work as a aoe for classes that lacks it, like rogue, pally or druid.
By The Holy Light!
I think Highlander Mage will consider this, and Control Paladin later on down the line when they get a better win condition. Highlander Mage needs more early game AoE, and they are getting Devolving Missiles to help trigger this against a larger board. The only thing that restricts its inclusion in decks is that control decks don't have great win conditions besides Priest, and they already have efficient AoE.
For glory, honor, and gold!
We saw this one early on, and it's a very safe, boring example of Spellburst to match that. Decent pick up in Arena but never something you'd include in a constructed deck, since the effect is just too unreliable and niche. Not even classes desperate for an AoE would want to waste a slot on this.
Welcome to the site!
Extraordinary. Rogue can also use it a lot as a "cheap" aoe.
Xbox gamertag - Psymonjet
Fairly balanced card, considering it hits one's own minions as well with the Spellburst effect.
