Thought I was screwed because I had King Phaoris (10 drop who cares about spells in hand for a tavern brawl with 30 minions) and Vandar + Kazakus (both 4 mana so nullifying each other). Then I realized Vandar works once you discount him with Offensive Play. EZ win lol
The main things I dislike about Clash Royals monetization is how ridicously hard it is to max out a deck, only for it to get nerfed later(even if it makes sense balance wise). The rewards for winning being gated and limited behind a hours long wait time doesn't help either. Needing gold to upgrade anything in addition to multiple copies of the card also actively discourages me from trying out new decks (even if I got enough copies to upgrade the cards), because it would actively hinder my progression on the one I already have.
I think the main problem I have is that the card level matter too much. Not being able to kill a unit purely because its one level higher than my spell just feels terrible. Two or more levels higher and my chance of winning decrease by a lot. This goes especially for the tower levels.
The pass might be a good deal, but the things it provides feels extremely unfair for players who don't purchase it. It more than doubles the gameplay relevant rewards, shortens the time gates (by isntantly starting the next timer, even if you aren't logged in) and guarantees that you complete every challange, destroying the whole purpose of it.
The monetization things I heard about Warcraft Rumble just sound like a straight improvement to me:
I may be in the minority, but I don't mind Clash Royale's monetization. It's a $5/month pass, the same price as Hearthstone's Tavern Pass, except that you can choose to buy it in smaller increments. And unlike Hearthstone, I don't feel like I need to pay any more for progression or cosmetics once I've bought the pass. Most Clash Royale knock-offs are a lot more obnoxious when it comes to bugging you to buy stuff.
I don't see enough about the monetization in this game to make a judgement call yet. I do think it's interesting that this early marketing is focusing more on the single player experience rather than PVP. I'm willing to pay a (small) ongoing amount for a PVP game that has continued support and an evolving meta, but I want my single player games to just give me a full experience with a set price.
Greetings, everyone! I'm back with some new content. Today, I'm presenting you something that is currently WIP, but I'd love to do in the future - a tournament series with a Core Set from cards organizers and later also fans can include. You are only seeing this on the site because of its formatting's convenience, so shush please. Tyvm :>
You can, however, tell if each class having 20 cards is good or should the number drop down. Again, it's heavily WIP, as not every set is finished.
That's super kind of you! I'm actually only missing the Rogue one, the other two were back in January and at the end of March. I guess I'll make do with the achievement popup for Rogue instead. I'll drop an image of my wall of fame once I've gotten new frames :)
@anchorm4n Hearing your story, I wanted to share with you my screenshot of 500 win pop up for Druid for you to use (my Priest and Rogue are still way bellow 500), but then I realized the picture has my battle tag, so I guess it wouldn´t help you anyway :/ Unless you are good at photoshop or know someone who is, heh :D
But anyway, thaks for the warning, I´m fairly close to 500w with my DH and 1000w with my Paladin, and I also like to do screenshots for my HS foldder, so it´s good to know to wait a bit.
Hey guys! I am that "good with photoshop person" that can help if you want to do it. Having 1 or 2 hours of free time this next days so I would gladly do so :)
Edit: I will use this space to tell I am getting close with Mage Dh and Priest for the 500 wins. Shaman already over 600 as I love murlocs and could not stop after 500 lol
Thanks to the feedback, I realised some issues with both my cards, so I made a new version of both of them.
Coiling Chronomancer's effect has less value than her previous version, but at the same time, is way less clunky. I think the best comparison would be Commander Sivara: it requires less setup, but it gives you only one card and you still have to draw it. Not sure if it's a bit too weak, though.
Marine Manipulator, on the other hand, isn't as cool as its previous Secret form, but it was way too dangerous as a 2 Mana card. I wonder if it would make more sense as a Neutral in its current form...
Anyway, more feedback:
MrRhapsody
Sunken Fortune would make more sense gameplay-wise if it just shuffled the coins instead of sinking them, but then it wouldn't qualify for this comp.
Pressure Exchange would make more sense in a class with Deathrattles, so I'd probably make it Priest or Rogue (the flavor doesn't fit Hunter). Also, I'm afraid it's a bit too weak right now. Compared to Play Dead, the cost of sinking your minion seems a higher price to pay than 1 Mana. Finally, the name isn't very obvious at first glance, so something like Sudden Drowning might work better, at least for me.
All in all, I think I prefer Pressure Exchange, but I think it's not without flaws.
AeroJulwin
The new implementation is fine, but I agree with MrRhapsody's take about Sidequests. His suggestion about making it a 0/3 weapon seems the best way to implement an effect like this, IMO.
Demonxz95
Both versions make sense, but I like the Warrior one a bit more.
linkblade91
I like the new version of It's The Big One, it's better than the previous one. As a super minor nitpick (yet again, sorry), I'd make it an Epic card, considering the minion it generates is a Legendary.
SkeithDE
I'd probably make it a minion (4 Mana 4/3 without the cost reduction, for instance). As a spell, I think effects like this are too dangerous to be cheap and too unimpactful to be more expensive. So, making them more expensive but also bring a body is the best way to implement them.
LarryMoments
The new art is definetly an improvement. As for the effect of the button, I think the 1 Mana version is my favorite.
I tried it, and you always want to play other stuff on turn 7 and later including Lynessa, Liadrin, and more buffs on your prelates. It’s too slow and not necessary in this particular deck.
Alright, listened to feedback and made 3 different versions of Emergency Defenses just to see which version is the best for this. (And ig the other one on my post also counts) That, and new art for the Captain which I thank Rhap for,
I'll do feedback once I get out of class or tomorrow, I'm somewhat busy with college.
god plz yes i would love the rotating wild set as new mode, and its exactly what the community have asked for years (i have read this request everywhere on reddit and other socials) is a lot of work for the devs but it have a lot of potiential in bringing new decks and fun to this game.
Im not agains to rotating wild, but i dont see why it would have to replace classi
i have notthing agains classic but seems they want to remove it because is a dead mode, the problem that the static is the death of fun, a mode that doesn't change make the mojority of people bored in no time, it was a good mode for the newcomers but bad for people with a great collection that have tons of cards unused.
with the incredible quantity of possiblities in terms of interactions and decks creation its really sad not even try to exploit all the old expansions
Interesting deck. Nice thumb 😁 btw no Hero card? Do you want the original HP for 'free' spell targets? Or do you just not have space in the deck anymore? Cariel is pretty good and Uther could keep providing bodies. Thoughts?
I played a version of this deck a while ago (must have been pre-Scholomance) and it was the first deck that ever brought me to the turn limit. Hearthstone games have to end, apparently!
Honestly, from what I heard the monetization doesn't sound that bad. especially compared to clash royale. There are no Lootboxes, everything can be earned with free ingame currencies, there are no time limitations, and in the 1v1 pvp everything will be normalized.
This could be fun. But the only thing I kept thinking about during the reveal is about the aggresive monetization and loads of grinding this game will have. I am afraid this will go the same way as mercinaries… I would love to have a new game but after all bliz has done lately, this will likely not be it…ill see…

Wailor, I made a minion version of it like you suggested. This definitely feels more solid as a card.
