  • How to Complete Sunken City's Demon Hunter Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

I just tested the interaction with Battleground Battlemaster and its seems like it doesn't work anymore :(

Did we have a ninja hotfix?

  • Hey wait! I've got a new complaint!

Its an unfortunate circumstance that will happen in every rotation because of the smaller pool available. This never used to be a problem because classic was sufficiently big and useless enough that most discover effects gets diluted fairly well. But core, featuring a smaller amount of cards, changed all that and we're at where we're at.

As bad as Amalgam of the Deep is abusing the smaller pool right now, at very least its a neutral card so you can easily abuse it back yourself. So while I think the card needs a stat nerf, its still kinda within what I could consider as fair.

Also, your suggestion doesn't really solve much since by diluting the pool according to rarity it can more easily be abused by something else like Venomous Scorpid or Pandaren Importer, and it makes the game more linear, which I dont think team5 would want.

Its much better to simply remove the possibilities of getting additional copies of certain cards. This is already in effect for quest cards. So why not legendaries as well?

  • Hey wait! I've got a new complaint!

    Ok, maybe not that new.

Anyway, I was beating my head against a wall playing on the standard ladder earlier, which of course means mech mages and mech paladins til I vomit. In one game, I was doing fairly well clearing those damn bots from a mage, receiving only a few flesh wounds from the two mecha-sharks, keeping things from getting too ugly. And then. . . 3 turns in a row, Gaia, the Techtonic, one natural, two discovered. Any I thought of something that had been on my mind before - DISCOVER is very often a problem in games like this, and maybe that needs to be tuned up. I've run into 3 The Leviathans as well since the expansion started, and it occurs to me that maybe discover cards should be limited to their rarity gem, meaning if Discover in attached to a common card, it can only discover common cards. . . rare can discover up to rare cards, epic up to epic, and in order to Discover a Legendary, you'd need to add the keyword to a Legendary card, or make one. It wouldn't necessarily guarantee you that, but simply add them to the pool, maybe with a higher "find" rate. I just find it annoying that some dumb two cost Discover card is capable of, essentially, guaranteeing a win later on, without having to play well, or fulfill any other requirements.

Love it or hate it, I'm forever in debt to your priceless advice.

  • New Demon Hunter Minion - Xhilag of the Abyss

If I Proving Grounds this, does his body hit the other minion or one of his tentacles does?

  • Complete 3 Stormwind Quests w/o PW

Paladin worked quite well. The draw is missing and the first day of school. But in casual it was fine. Quest Hunter was a deck I don't want to play either. I own both Quest cards but I don't like to play opressive meta decks in casual.

  • Is going first vs second still balanced?

I remember when Rise of Shadows was in standard 3(?) years ago and Tempo Rogue was dominating with things like Togwaggle Pick and Edwin. In the mirror match up the player going second typically won because being able to activate combo cards and buff Edwin was that important. Hell, Wisp even saw some play then lol

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

how long do you think blizzard will let switcheroo priest destroy the game before they do something about it? like, at least kael'thas druid can be really easily disrupted with dirty rat/okani/hand transformation spells like savory delight + takes high apm and a bit of practice to execute consistently; switcheroo priest is somehow even easier and even more broken than questline hunter AND this time blizzard had all the time in the world to fix the darkness combo pre-release and didnt.

  • How to Complete Sunken City's Druid Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

Oof, rough to hear you had to go through such annoying matchups, but I am glad you pulled it off in the end

  • How to Complete Sunken City's Druid Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

Thanks for the help on the Bottom Feeder one. I was working through iterations of something like that deck but hadn't quite gotten there. It took me 5 tries to finally get an opponent that I could complete the process. Darn Rogues kept sending it back to hand and the pesky Priests kept silencing it.

Best way for me is via duels with quest druid. Otherwise, Id just do it with hunter in wild.

I do not own Nellie, the Great Thresher, so I put all my hope on that interaction working - luckily for me, it did!

  • How to Complete Sunken City's Paladin Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

There are to ways of looking at the achievement:

    • Including two copies of Radar Detector increases your chances to draw it;
    • However, you may end up missing the achievement because you draw the second Radar with the first.

I still think running two radars is worth the risk, but I would understand someone opting for the other approach.

  • How to Complete Sunken City's Paladin Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

The Under the Radar achievement was surprisingly annoying for me. I kept "scanning" the 2nd copy of Radar Detector and had to wait to draw it but by that time my deck was empty...

  • How to Complete Sunken City's Neutral Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

Not gonna lie: it took a huge amount of time and effort, but we're glad we pulled this off - unless I am missing something, we should be the first publishing achievement guides for this expansion.

OMG, If only I knew about the Brann Bronzebeard + Nellie interaction earlier... damn that achievement depended a lot on luck if you tried to do it with a single battlecry

  • How to Complete Sunken City's Demon Hunter Achievements for Rewards Track Experience - Great Deck Lists!

Very creative way to complete the S'thenowhere to hide achievement. Thijs made a S'theno OKT deck with Abusive Sergeants that can complete the achievement as well.

Wow, really crazy how fast you've created achievement guides! It's much appreciated

  • Achievement Hunting: Sunken City edition

Hi there, thanks for putting together such a guide - it really shows that you put a lot of time (and effort) into it!

It has to be said that I would've appreciated if you posted this in the Achievement Hunting thread I originally created a week ago, but it's not the end of the world...

In case anyone's interested, we just published Sunken City achievement guides for each class (+ Neutrals), and you can find them below.

Please point out any mistake or any information we should add!

  • Is going first vs second still balanced?

Theoretically in mirror matches with the exact same draws, the player going first should win.

They simply get first say in the board state, and for a vast majority of turns have their next mana crystal first.

You could also kinda imagine first player skipping turn 1, and essentially turning the game into the following scenario:

    - Player 2 gets the first turn 1, with the coin and 4 card mulligan + draw,

    - Player 1's "first turn" "going second" starts with 3 card mulligan + 2 draws, and they have one more mana than the other player for the whole game (until 10 mana)

In practice, the game is simply too random (on draw alone even) decks generally just beat other decks in rock-paper-scissors, and the coin being a 0 mana spell is good to some decks, so the advantage isn't at all noticeable in a lot of games... Unless it's aggro and first player gets good draws.

  • New Priest Spell - Switcheroo

    Quote From TheDynamicBandit

Also, you play this with Stonetusk Boar and The Darkness in Wild

    What have you done...

I can tell you: he added 1+1. That seems to be more than the QA is capable of.

  • Complete 3 Stormwind Quests w/o PW

Paladin with a bunch of 1 costs but it's not as good as before the standard rotation.

Quest Shaman and Rogue also just want to play cards as far as I'm aware.

Quest Hunter is okay but isn't as simple to deck build.

I'm pretty sure Warrior is the best in terms of Quest decks right now in standard.

  • Complete 3 Stormwind Quests w/o PW

Questline Hunter, most likely. They can finish their task crazy fast.

  • Complete 3 Stormwind Quests w/o PW

How do you complete this weekly task the fastest without playing Pirate Warrior?

  • New Priest Spell - Switcheroo

Also, you play this with Stonetusk Boar and The Darkness in Wild
