  • Hearthstone's Next Mini-Set is Delve into Deepholm - Card Reveal Schedule!

We know 100% we'll be getting more elemental support due to Therazane the Stone Mother

She's one of the silhouette Legendary minions that will be released first.  She's also the very last elemental lord released in HS with the others being Ragnaros the Firelord, Neptulon and Al'Akir the Windlord.

Other interesting facts, she is one of the Old Gods Lieutenants

Other facts regarding Deepholm itself is more dragons! The 2 main ones being Aeonaxx  and Xariona

Still trying to farm my reins-of-the-phosphorescent-stone-drake mount to this day...

While I'm not against a Deepholm mini-set, it has no lore tie in to the Badlands whatsoever (at least from a WoW perspective)

Deepholm is one of the main areas in the Cataclysm expansion that involved Deathwing. Perhaps there will be some HS specific story which explains why we heading to Deepholm

  • Hearthstone's Next Mini-Set is Delve into Deepholm - Card Reveal Schedule!

Well it should be releasing on January 18th with the patch on 16th with the card reveals or most likely 17th. I doubt they will wait longer. Iirc the last time they did all of the reveals until Monday and released mini set immediately on Tuesday, but it looks like it's not gonna be so quick this time. But I still doubt they'll wait for a whole week.

    Every. Single. Time.

  • Riot Games Releases League of Legends' 2024 Season Cinematic

    Well this just kept building!

The Aatrox vs Kyle & Morgana fight was neat. No idea what stronghold they were fighting over, but it has some nice aerial combat and synergy between the two angel champs.

Then we get Yasuo doing his best impression of Old Man Logan. Probably a new skin his final fate in the lore, at least until the next retcon.

But MAN, did not expect to see Tryndamere go up against Kindred, literal bloody Death, with nothing but a sword and his pecks! I LOVE Kindred as a character, and it's great to see them in a cinematic, especially against Trynd, who's whole shtick is that he's a survivor. Strong "Death can have me when it has earned me" vibes from that one.

And, as usual, great music, animation and cinematography.

I'll admit I haven't done much in the way of reading lately, but in the interest of contributing I will share that "What If? 2: Additional Serious Scientific Answers To Absurd Hypothetical Questions" is a great read. And the first one too, of course. It's by Randall Munroe, the guy behind the "xkcd" website (which has amusing jokes, diagrams, and scenarios, as well; updated three times a week).

If you enjoy his brand of learning-through-humor, he also wrote "How To: Absurd Scientific Advice for Common Real-World Problems". I have all three: they are quite fun and funny, and hey, you just might learn something! Something useless, but still...something lol.

You can get all three in hardcover on Amazon for like $46 total.

  • What Are You Playing? January 2024

Today I've finally fully completed RolllerCoaster Tycoon 1. It's a journey that's been years in the making, but I've finally done it!

    Base Game

    Corkscrew Follies

    Loopy Landscapes

    Real Parks

    Extras

(Mega Park can't be completed because it has no win flag assigned to it. It has no objective to complete, and no matter what you do, it will never be possible to get a checkmark next to it on the menu.)

I read The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, by Patricia C Wrede, and those are some charming books, y'all. Dragon politics, wizard scheming, and magic swords tumbled together in a fairytale setting. These books are written for young people, so a very nice choice to read with your nieces/nephews/etc and then chat about later.

I'm also continuing to enjoy a wander through Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. Here's to many interesting books in 2024!

  • Hearthstone Duels is Being Removed From the Client in April 2024

I personally am saddened by the news. I use to play Duels a lot, even it´s mainly for the XP achievements, I enjoy it a lot. It´s a great way to try the new cards and complete the achievements even you don´t own required cards by finding it in Duels buckets. You don´t have to risk losing your rank on Ranked by playing wacky decks or pay a fee to play Arena, where you have only a slightly chance to get the cards you would need for the achievements. I understand why would they abandon the mode since it wasn´t very popular lately, but why to remove it completely, while Mercenaries can still go on? Money, I know... Sad, sad panda :/

So after having finished Stormlight 3 (awesome!!) I got a very cool surprise in the form of hardcover copies of the Skyward series as my Christmas presents! Guess I'm a Sanderson fanboy now :D And what can I say - I've finished the first volume in only 3 days! It's way easier to read and way more fast paced than Stormlight which is totally fine for me. I generally like switching between Sci-Fi and Fantasy as well as slower and faster plots and those two series really hit the sweet spot for me. Big recommendation!

  • What Are You Playing? January 2024

I've rolled the credits on God of War: Ragnarok last week and all I can say is it definitely lives up to all the hype. What a ride.

For now, I'll finish up some side quests in GoW and play Hearthstone. Not sure what's next yet... maybe the last two Jedi games? Diablo IV? We'll see :-)

Are you a connoisseur of retro gaming, eager to rekindle those cherished childhood gaming sessions while on the move? The Miyoo Mini Plus and Anbernic RG35XX are your ideal companions. Fashioned in the likeness of the iconic Game Boy, these portable handheld consoles boast a plethora of features and designs, each setting them apart in their unique way. In this blog, we delve into a detailed comparison between the Miyoo Mini Plus and Anbernic RG35XX, aiming to guide you in determining which one aligns best with your nostalgic gaming pursuits.

    Design and Aesthetics

Beginning with their design and visual appeal, the Miyoo Mini Plus is available in a quartet of color schemes: Retro Gray, Retrograde, White with multicolored buttons, and Transparent Purple and Black. Conversely, the Anbernic RG35XX exudes a robust, high-quality feel with its gritty plastic texture, offering both premium aesthetics and enhanced grip.

Design-wise, both consoles draw inspiration from the classic Game Boy, featuring a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 640x480 pixels. The button layouts on both devices share notable similarities.

However, notable distinctions emerge when viewing them sideways. The RG35XX stands taller, marked by a more pronounced lower bezel, whereas the Miyoo Mini Plus is somewhat bulkier. The RG35XX's shoulder and trigger buttons flare out, creating a noticeable edge along the top. In contrast, the Miyoo Mini Plus integrates these buttons seamlessly with the console's body. This difference influences how each device rests on a surface; the RG35XX leans at an angle, while the Miyoo Mini Plus lies flat.

When it comes to portability, the Miyoo Mini Plus is often considered more pocket-friendly, though both models are conveniently portable, easily slipping in and out of pockets.

    Controls

Regarding the control features, the Miyoo Mini+ showcases a d-pad that is slightly smaller and thicker compared to that of the RG35XX. This difference, though minor, does not detract from the comfort and usability of either device. Both handhelds are equipped with A, B, X, Y buttons that are notably responsive and provide a satisfying clicky feel. Additionally, the placement of the start and select buttons is identical on both models.

The RG35XX distinguishes itself with its uniquely flared shoulder and trigger buttons. This design not only enhances the grip but also adds a distinct aesthetic touch to the console. On the Miyoo Mini Plus, the positioning of the R2 and L2 buttons slightly above the R and L shoulder buttons is a thoughtful ergonomic feature, improving the overall comfort and ease of handling during gameplay.

    Performance

Both the Miyoo Mini Plus and the Anbernic RG35XX operate on a Linux-based system, providing compatibility with a wide array of retro gaming emulators. For an enhanced experience, users can install the latest custom firmware: Onion OS for the Miyoo Mini Plus and Garlic OS for the RG35XX, each offering its unique set of features and improvements.

In terms of processing power, the Miyoo Mini Plus is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU, while the RG35XX runs on a 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 CPU. Both handhelds are adept at handling a vast range of retro games without any performance issues. Notably, the Miyoo Mini Plus has a slight edge over the RG35XX in terms of loading times and overall system responsiveness, providing a smoother gaming experience.

    Battery Life

The Anbernic RG35XX is powered by a 2100mAh battery, offering up to 3 hours of gameplay on a single charge, though this can vary based on usage. In contrast, the Miyoo Mini+P boasts a more substantial 3000mAh battery, extending its usage time to approximately 4-5 hours under similar conditions. Conveniently, both devices support USB-C charging, providing a modern and universal charging solution.

    Conclusion

Both the Miyoo Mini Plus and the Anbernic RG35XX stand as top-tier choices for retro gaming enthusiasts, each boasting a suite of features to satisfy diverse gaming preferences. The RG35XX offers the unique capability to connect to computers, TVs, monitors, and projectors via HDMI, enabling gameplay on larger screens. On the other hand, the Miyoo Mini Plus is equipped with WiFi functionality, not only allowing for online gaming with friends but also enabling additional features through its wireless connectivity. Moreover, it benefits from a longer battery life.

Ultimately, the decision between these two consoles boils down to personal preference and specific gaming needs. Regardless of your choice, both the Miyoo Mini Plus and the Anbernic RG35XX promise robust performance and countless hours of nostalgic retro gaming enjoyment.

  • Hearthstone Duels is Being Removed From the Client in April 2024

And I'm glad his legacy will be remembered as the epitome of corporate greed.

He personally killed many Blizzard games, especially OW2. Many devs spoke publicly after his departure. All summed up in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnvWJIQK9rc

You know those pokemon wandering in Wild Area who has their level way higher than what you can possibly beat? Well, I didn't know, so when I ran into one of those and it wiped my party, I pretended that it didn't happen. Twice. So I'm a shameful cheater.
Other than that only one death so far, 6 gyms finished.

Not sure how GGG will up their game next league coz damn, everyone is getting rich due to the wisps juicing every map.

  • Reddit Design Comps - Feedback Thread

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'll go with the Crab like you both recommended. I also encourage you to participate :)

  • Reddit Design Comps - Feedback Thread

Crab is the definite better option. The boar is simply too overpowered, having all your minions take 4 damage whenever they attack the enemy hero feels way too oppressive. And it can stack too. If you look at the rewards the azerite legenderies are all rather mellow in effect. Snake was an outlier. The rest... summon two 8 drops, give you a titan, give you 4 random (often useless) spells, or rez a buffed minion. They're not weak don't get me wrong but it's nothing out of this world. Just board swings most of the time that die to boardclears. The crab fits most in line with the rest, creating a scary board that can be answered to.

  • Reddit Design Comps - Feedback Thread

Both are cool ideas but I'd definitely go with the Crab here for two reasons:

    • The Crab art fits the azerite theme way better (as you've mentioned yourself)
    • Boar = Hunter in Hearthstone, with very few exceptions like cage head. So if you want to go with the boar art, I'd suggest making it a Hunter card with another effect.

    Good luck with the competition!
