Wild could provide shelter for this card. Hemet, Jungle Hunter and bang! Your deck is empty for this card to work. While Mecha'thun is a bit better as a win con for empty decks, it's still pretty good as a refill and an alternate win condition in case Mecha'thun is forcefully played.
This card is a battlecry so you can put more cheap spells in your deck via Educated Elekk and destroy it yourself to avoid fatigue. The game should be over after a couple of turns of the portal anyway.
It could be a strong alternative win condition in a control deck. It is fun to play but it will be horrible to play against, so I don't think it is meant to be a strong competitive card.
Imps, ropes, portals you want it? its yours my friend as long as you have enough mana. Sorry link i cant give you a dark portal, come back when your deck is a little mmm- emptier.
I'm getting heavy Chef Nomi vibes from him. 6/6s were more game ending, though this has the benefit of practically making the 3/2s nigh-impossible to remove since they come back at the end of the turn. That being said, you're taking fatigue damage, and I feel like even Control Mirrors will have ways of closing out games in fatigue.
3 stars, if only because he's the star of the Mill-yourself-lock deck.
One of those cards that shows potential but is practically impossible to pull off without dying.
But if team5 really wants this to work, expect plenty of support in the coming 2 expansions. The payoff is certainly nice. Outside of freeze spells, there's just very little you can do to prevent 18 damage incoming, since the imps are summoned every turn.
On paper it looks nice, but getting there and not die is something else altogether.
Because it fills the board at the end of every turn that includes your opponent’s turn. Meaning every time you start your turn you are going to have at least six 3/2 imps (18 total damage) ready to attack.
If the old portal from the Un’goro quest was an every turn effect it would have been nuts! This one is also crazy, but with the disadvantage of having an empty deck.
So it honestly seems like the type of card that is more meme than competitive, but in the right meta/match ups it could also be a great win condition.
So Nether Portal but it fills BOARD EVERY turn. Dunno about it, looks like last chance win condition, but Chef Nomi is still in standard and nobody plays him. Also you have C'Thun, the Shattered as better win condition.
Edit: looks like it fills board at the end of YOUR turn, not EVERY turn. So usefulness of this card dropped to 2 stars max.
Ok, another self mill payoff card. The problem I see, is the same as with the discard mechanic: You don't want to burn your payoff cards. As long as this card is in your deck you can't reliably mill yourself.
The effect istself is like Nomi with weaker tokens, but it never runs out of gas. I doubt you will survive long enough.
Guess warlock's not only going to delete your deck in the next expansion, they're also going to delete their own deck.
Probably some kind of weird midrange zoolock that goes through their deck really quickly just to make this card work. But there's still significant hurdles for this to actually be viable;
- Warlock can no longer draw all their deck quickly as they can now because Expired Merchant is gone, so there's only 2 copies of Hand of Gul'dan
- If your deck is empty, you're practically on a timer which is usually not favorable to warlock because most of their cards damage heroes and there's only limited amounts of healing
- There are card burn synergy with Tickatus and Soul Rend, which can remove your deck quickly but ironically can also end up discarding this card.
Unless we see something that can refill your deck, stop you from drawing per turn, or something close to old Tracking or The Soularium, I doubt this card will be viable anytime soon.
Edit: Should've mentioned that miracle warlock is not entirely impossible. But I'll believe it when I see it.
The fact that it fills your board rather than only summoning 2 like the Un'goro quest might mean that this could actually see play, looking forward to seeing how this end up performing
I think this has a serious chance to be a win condition for a Control Warlock. The class has an easier time than most other control decks reaching fatigue thanks to Life Tap. Once they hit fatigue and play Neeru Fireblade, they can play Envoy Rustwix or whatever ways they can duplicate that deathrattle to avoid fatigue damage. A free board of eighteen damage each turn can quickly outpace even the 6/6 Abyssals from Lord Jaraxxus and will be harder for opponents to keep up with than the 6/6 Abyssals. This looks crazy and scary and I can't wait to try this out!
ok. Now it's worth destroying one's deck. Somehow I knew there was a purpose to the Shadow Cards and Roame. Now we know.
However, there is one slight drawback: destroying this card as one destroys their deck in order to use it. I'd say, pray that this card is in hand, or after a mulligan. If not, well, Concede.
This is one of the craziest effects I've seen in Hearthstone! Regardless of its competitive viability, I think it's a fun card and really want to try it out!

This seems like a worthwhile inclusion in Taunt Druid. It will essentially be a free 2 / 3 most of the time, and sometimes better than that.

Team 5 printing Soul Rend makes sense now lol.
Reminds me of Chef Nomi, which this card essentially replaces.
