Fair warning, I am going to rate Kragg 1 star since it breaks the rules IMO
I cannot change your mind even tough he does not break the rules - i even asked and it isn't stated that it wasn't allowed but ok ...
Wasn't expecting to get to the finals with him anyway because of the feedback but i liked the card so i went with it.
Good luck to everyone who made it to the finals.
I personaly like flavour-focus themes but this one was a little harder because of the art and knowledge about character background but it was still fun.
Sure Kinkou Lifeblade is obsolete right now but: I am quite sure riot will soon eighter nerf Sparklefly if they find it too good or buff lifebale if they think it's fine. Riot actually cares about balance and only nerfed it back then because it was so popular in an unpopular archetype. I think nowadays elusives weren't even that good since we got answers for them in many regions and challenger slapped on all units we summon (thanks to The Grand Plaza)
@anchorm4n I thought the flavor was pretty lacking honestly.
First off, that art was of a completely different character (and, well... you had the future Toki art for it, so not like there was no choice).
Second, the effect didn’t click at all with the flavor for me. Copying cards in your opponent’s deck is a well known Priest trope, and never once did it strike me in a time travel context
Which leaves us with Anub'ar Ambusher, Lilian Voss and Mistwraith. I have no idea what the cheese refers to and all three of them have a different rarity so my guess is Lilian Voss because Legendary cards are orange and so is most cheese lol. Mistwraith would obviously be a rare card, but that wouldn't fit with how the other lines were meant to be solved.
And it just feels like you didn't read the whole thing, and i should have used your void caller example for control with warlock missed that.
I admit that was the case since I was rushing a bit to get on with other stuff. Sorry about that.
I guess just as you used Aviana + Kun as a specific example of a wider problem, my analysis can be easily generalised to other Wild archetypes. Long story short, it is rare for new cards to be printed that seriously change the optimised toolkit used in Wild, and it is only going to get rarer as the Wild card pool increases in size. It is an inevitable feature of the Wild format when 'Spike' players are common.
This is why I really want a rotating Wild game mode, kind of like Standard but switching more often and using sets from across the game's history. As Wild itself stagnates, this would give old cards more room to breathe and force players to come up with new strategies because their pool of cards is truly changing (even more than in Standard).
Token Druid can still win games with its insane early game highrolls, but see it this way: Embiggen makes Voracious Reader pretty much a Jeeves, which is quite slow for a deck that wants to win games as early as turn 4.
So it's a Rogue card that somehow combos with other cards. I'm not really sure about the rarity, but there are not many cards in Rogue that give you Health.
I have three ideas. My first guess is Galakrond, the Nightmare. Rogue card of the highest rarity giving you Armor and cheap cards to combo with.
I find it kind of funny how fun and interactive gameplay is their fundamental metric to balance around.
Meanwhile Swain Sejuani overwhelm/burn exists (which is essentially gruul from mtg) since rising tides which is against both principles of fun and interactivity and still didn't receive real nerfs just because it isn't highly received by the biassed proscene.
Is "toast cuz its classy" refers to SI:7 Agent (or to rogue class)? And other components also lead to other cards and you need to understand everything to find the answer?
"Cheese since it rare" - refers to its legendary card?
You got the idea, AND the card Toast is referring to (so yeah, Rogue). Since no one figured out what “Cheese” is, you wouldn’t be able to know its rarity (the class of the card is the same as “Toast”, the rarity of the card is the same as “Cheese” etc.)
Honestly I wasn't very surprised about the low number of submissions. Thematically, it wasn't too narrow and the list grumpymonk provided on page 1 was invaluable. Major "but": Finding good art was very difficult and that's what I suppose stopped quite a few people from participating.
If anyone feels like it, I would be grateful for some quick feedback on Toki, Mistress of Time, which was my submission for this week. I aimed at twisting her flavor from Toki, Time-Tinker giving you Legendarys from the past to my version giving you cards from the future by discovering a copy from your opponent's deck. Was it too annoying? Too risky?
I can tell you that Deathrattle Hunter has become viable in Standard and Wild. While it's certainly not top tier, the combination of Secrets and Deathrattles has finally come to fruition. Cards like Maxima Blastenheimer, Oblivitron and Flark's Boom-Zooka have found a home and the archetype is super fun AND competetive.
I've been playing mainly Wild these days, where Sylvanas Windrunner is mvp against Big Priests and Warlocks. I can provide a list tonight if you're interested. It's quite close to the one of clawz161, but also features Sneed's Old Shredder (fun card, might try out Oblivitron with Tonks instead of it), Barnes and Master's Call to avoid Barnes and Maxima hitting each other. I've also cut Deathstalker Rexxar in favor of Flark's Boom-Zooka which is crazy good in this deck.
This is what i was playing in standard at the beginning of the expansion.
Relies a lot on luck and the wild version is much better. I mainly play wild now so i never bothered making the standard version better. But the one below i am still working with.
Honestly if you really want to go all in with bounce effects why not try Monastery of Hirana? It's better than trying to use Dawn and Dusk in that case. Also since this deck really wants to copy Teemos, this seems more like a combo deck than I initially thought. If so then I suggest trying to use Counterfeit Copies because it's more Mana efficient.
I can't drop electrorig, thats the core idea of the deck I wanted to build around... 5+ teemos in play! cant do that with only 3 in the deck...
Concussive palm sounds like a really really good idea, thanks, not sure why I missed that one.
Stand United has its uses but i will cut it out completely for now.
Dawn and Dusk does feel overkill on 3, 2 should be good maybe even just 1 because it bricks with 2 in hand.
recall i like in this deck, shadowshift I find a tad expensive, i use them to get more teemos out rather than protect teemo per say. (bounce wayfinder to get more), I can maybe cut shadow shift for other bounce cards.
I unfortunately do not have lulu, i did consider her in the deck but can't afford yet and have other ones i want first..not that I can find any room for it anyway...
OK so I am probably cutting 3 stand united 3 shadow shift and 2 dawn and dusk. giving me room for 8 more cards.
I want to put in concussive palm, deny, nopeify, homecoming and possibly retreat.....
I will try, 2 palm, 2 deny, 2 homecoming, 1 nopeify and 1 retreat
Original Character, Do Not Steal - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread
ok but how is it CLEARLY ??? wasn't stated in the rules and i asked and it was ok- so obviously not that clearly to everyone else ...
Would be cool if you could explain to me why it was against the prompt so i know what i did wrong ?
but ok the voting for the finalists is over and as suspected it did not make the cut so i guess the discussion about it is kinda unnecessary :)

I’m not debating whether it’s going to get disqualified or not, I’m saying that I think it’s very clearly going against the idea of the prompt

Teemo deck advice please
As an experienced League of Legends Player i would suggest to replace Teemo with Heimerdinger
That should improve the deck significantly ;)

[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Thanks for the clarification!
1) SI:7 Agent - a Rogue card
2) ?
3) Naga Sand Witch - 5 Health
4) Ice Cream Peddler - costs 4
Which leaves us with Anub'ar Ambusher, Lilian Voss and Mistwraith. Reverting Brann won't be the same as reverting Raza, but that is an even stronger argument in favor of reverting Brann.
If a card is nowhere near breaking a format, then it should not be held back.
[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Okay, let me try to clarify the idea of the riddle a bit.
The idea is that the answer shares an attribute with the card hinted at in each line.
”Toast cuz it’s classy” it shares a class with SI:7 Agent (known for his infamous line, “heh, this guy’s Toast”)
”Cheese since it’s rare” it shares a rarity with (?) (something to do with cheese)
”a Sandwich to stay healthy” it shares Health with (?) (something to do with sandwich)
”Ice Cream's cheap so it’s there” it shares a cost with (?) (something to do with Ice Cream)

Could be. It all depends on the Rarity of the “Cheese”
