  • Rewards Track: Current progress

Before I start, I'm going to make it clear that I'm not for or against the new system because I don't know how my net gold or rewards will look at the end of this expansion cycle.

         - I am currently level 18 (with the XP boost from purchasing) while only playing ~1-2 hours a day so that means, according to this table found here, that I have earned at least 23,400 experience in three days by doing dailies, weeklies, and random achievement bonuses. That being said, an expansion cycle is (typically) 4 months/~120 days. So if we do the math; 23,400 divided by 3 is 7,800. Now multiply that by 120 and we get 936,000, which according to the graph table listed above puts me at maxing out the rewards track. If my math is wrong please correct me, and I'm not making a case for the rewards track, I'm just putting out what I (super capitalized) have gotten to and what I might get to by the end of this cycle.

When the new track was released they filled out our quest bar with 3 normal quests and 3 weeklies (I think that includes the duels quest which awards scholomance packs). So technically you're counting the xp gained in the last 3 days using a metric where you've fully completed 5 dailies and 3 weeklies. Wouldn't be representative

Disclude the achievements xp. Its one time only and its a pain in the arse to complete. I wouldn't use it as a metric anyway.

To properly calculate it, just imagine a week's worth of quest plus a decent amount of playtime xp. The math is readily available in reddit if you're interested. Just add in your 10% boost.

Its not possible to max out without playing at least 5 hours a day. Even with the boost I'm sure its impossible to achieve without committing like full time to it.

Agreed with this. @griffior - do those calculations again at the start of next week, when you don't have the front-loaded dump of all sorts of extra exp to get started. THAT will be the accurate metric of how much exp you will get daily

So let me redo the math instead, let's subtract all the daily quests up to day three when this thread was made. Which takes away roughly ~5000 XP away from the sum I had at that time. So the total would be 18,400 XP, divided by three which is 6,133. Then multiply that by ~120 is 736,000 which still puts me at above maxing out the Track. However one thing I forgot about for the initial calculation were the achievements that I may have gotten which bloated the total amount of XP. As you can tell it's just too late to try to calculate this mess, our best option is to wait for the next track to start making calculations.

I'm currently at level 23 today and the grind is definitely there and it feels especially bad because now instead of achievements being a happy accidents I'm finding myself Achievement Hunting, which is not something I like doing at my age.

One thing I'd like to add however is that the Rewards Track is only a ~week old and I'm already almost halfway through it and I'm saying this is a good thing, I'm saying that the potential for a real grindfest is still possible towards the end of the track which is something I am absolutely not looking forward to.

  • [Duels] Deck of Lunacy No Minion Mage (Darkmoon Faire)

Sadly those cards aren't available in Duels at the moment, but the deck still works well without them and the main win condition is to transform all your deck early into more powerful spells while still keeping them cheap.

I may play around with what spells are in the deck to add more variety in the spells you can get from Deck of Lunacy and it's possible to target certain spells at higher mana cost as there aren't mana of them in the pool.

At least they are trying... but I doubt this cuts the fact that they were straight up lying to us

I haven't spent any money on the game, and I have 3 pretty top tier decks:Dragonbane Hunter, Ramp Dragon Druid and Lifesteal Demon Hunter, all of which have a legendary. I'm honestly not bothered by all of this

you will want to try something else after a while but oh.. wait you can't.. You need to dust 320 cards to get the most important card in your deck. And 160 to get 2 copies of your second most important card.

The only thing I'm upset about is the fact that I still haven't received my 100 gold from reaching Level 21 ye

  • How soon is too soon to craft?

    Quote From anchorm4n

I know this isn't very reasonable, but I usually craft what I want on day 1 if I don't get it from packs. Trying out new stuff is one of the most fun aspect of the game for me and I'm willing to bear the consequences of this behaviour. Of course that means having to dust duplicates on day 1, too, but I do it manually and save up rares and epics that might get nerfed.

A bit off topic but I really hope they add more QOL improvements for dust management.

    For example:

    • Ability to "lock" cards from getting dusted by the mass disenchant button
    • Ability specify which specific rarities to disenchant (like what you manually did above)
    • Ability to specify the minimum number of cards (for example now it's 2) that is safe from getting mass disenchanted.
  • My Yogg secret rogue is amazing (:

So much value I turned into Mill rogue and made a mage mill 10 cards.

  • Neo-Menagerie Quest Taunt Warrior

Mainly just to help fill out curve. I actually didn't open whatley or ringmasters baton so I can't try the deck for myself, so just mess around with it and try new things.

I find this a little funny, considering most people who are on Blizzard about this have played longer than a year. This promotion means nothing to everyone who has been playing since before December 10th 2019.

    Not true.

She was a Twitch Prime reward and not everyone has Prime. I don't. And I'd already used my free trial way before this promo originally came out.

With Tickatus in warlock, its kind hard to see Heavy control decks to rise up. So its prolly another Tempo/Aggro meta incoming, Unless they nerf it somehow

The Shaman deck is pretty funny when it works, definitely give it a go, its not even that expensive.

This is what I do too, I usually have a list of cards I'm going to craft on day 1. These are usually cards that I feel could slot into many different decks though, or ones that I believe would be powerful. I crafted Il'gynoth yesterday because he just slots in perfectly to Soul DH, and I'm close to crafting the other Old Gods (I got golden Yogg from my bundle) because they'll figure into the meta one way or another.

Like anchorm4n said, it also depends on what your goal is. If you want to compete competitively, wait a week. If you just want to have fun, by all means, go craft what you want.

I think Hero skins and card backs don’t show in the shop for you if you already have them.

If that’s not true, it should be!

Had Tyrande since she came out, I've never seen her in the shop.

I lost out an 3 weekly quests due to the bug, is there any say if ill be compensated? Or am I just screwed out of xp forever

    I wouldn't hold my breath. Sorry :(

  • Neo-Menagerie Quest Taunt Warrior

Hey, so I had a similar idea and have opened most of the cards. Anyhow, had fun with it, but can you tell me what the Licensed Adventurers do for this deck? I’m thinking of dropping those for Brawl and Lord Barov. I like the menagerie thing, consider adding captain greenskin as well.

Anyone had the unfortunate experience of not finishing up their weekly quests? I really would like to know if you still get 3 of them at the start of the week, or if its just 1750xp wasted.

I didn't finish the 7 ranked wins quest last week because i didn't feel like playing a long time on ladder at all. I got only 3 wins while completing other quests. The quest carried over with 3 wins to the next week which means i probably lost a ton of exp in the process. Doesn't bother me that much because i'm not going to bend over and do whatever the game wants me to do when i don't want to but the short answer is: Yes, you will be severely punished if you don't submit to the game's demands.

I completed the Revolve achievement easily with combination Mad Summoner at turn 7 (Ranked Wild).

  • How soon is too soon to craft?

If you care a lot about being competitive and staying relevant then you should wait for the meta to stabilize. But that costs you the freedom to experiment because once the meta settles new experiments are going to suffer a lot under the pressure of the other already refined meta decks. If you just want to have fun then you should craft what you want and play with it while you can. I'll get to level 25 in the reward track before i craft anything so i have a chance to get what i want and possibly save dust or have it available to craft cards from previous expansions (like Soulciologist Malicia). Then i'll just craft what i want to play with (N'Zoth, Yogg, Whatley).
