  • New Shaman/Mage Spell - Devolving Missiles

Cool effect and it will be probably so strong against priest. Evolve was better for sure and the RNG factor is really high here. Super strong against a small board with strong minion, really weak with a full board where there isn't only 1threat (or taunt to devolve to close the game)

  • New Priest & Warlock Minion - Brittlebone Destroyer

Pretty awesome for a rare, easy requirement for both classes since your HP is enough.

  • New Mage/Rogue Minion - Wand Thief

I think this card is super strong in a Rouge deck since it can discover a lot of good spell. In a mage deck probably isn't enough to be played

  • New Druid/Shaman Spell - Lightning Bloom

Broken Card imo. Blizzard nerfed Innervate for a reason...

Super strong and the overload effect can be sometimes not significant (thank to the huge tempo play that this card enable) or maybe used in a shaman deck to activate some other effects!

  • Disciplinarian Gandling is a New Priest & Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Convincing Infiltrator, Mindflayer Kaahrj, Reliquary of Souls. The latter two are obviously more niche, but the former is more of a headache.

  • New Priest & Warlock Minion - Disciplinarian Gandling

Super interesting card! It's look stronger in warlock, but this card have a lot of potential. For sure can be used in some zoolock or in a tempo deck. Also the presence of lackeys and new card like the Egg can make this card so strong

  • New Priest & Warlock Minion - Disciplinarian Gandling

A powerful legendary for both Warlock and Priest.

We've already seen Warlock have a good deathrattle this expansion with the Spider egg minion, this legendary is also telling us that priest will have deathrattles to play with as well (fitting, since it's in scholomance).

because of this minion's cost you'll want to play him followed by at least 2-3 minions that you don't mind dying for some 4/4 - namely either lackeys or cheap death rattles or Reborn minions such as Leper Gnomes, Evil Conscriptors, Grandmummies, Fiendish Servants, Murmies,  even Reliquary or Souls or Ebonlocke would be good to play after this minion.

We still need to see what other deathrattles and maybe (?) reborn minions we get in this set

However because of the cost you won't be able to run him in the most aggressive of decks, like Houndmaster Shaw (same cost 'n stat line) this minion will probably be more at home in a midrange list.

  • New Priest & Warlock Minion - Brittlebone Destroyer

In a warlock deck can be an easy add if you need a removal. Can synergize well with other cards that inflict self dammage or use the same mechanics. In the worst scenario is a Siphon Soul with a draw effect and minion instead the 3 heal.

In a priest deck this card is
slightly worse. Sure, you can heal yourself with heropower or some other card to activate Brittlebone Destroyer but the Warlock hero power is stronger. Apart from this Priest have more removal from which we can choose

  • New Rogue & Warrior Minion - Steeldancer

Interesting card and perfect in a tempo deck (probably a tempo warior). For now is too difficult to evaluate, but in the right deck can be a strong turn 4

  • New Neutral Minion - Animated Broomstick

Maybe this is a Tech Card. I think that Magic Carpet is a card with a better effect and some extra value. I don't like the idea to use 2 cards sloot for this card...

  • Disciplinarian Gandling is a New Priest & Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

He used to be a cooking teacher, problem was he only knew how to make omelets.

  • New Neutral Minion - Wretched Tutor

It's an ok neutral AoE card. On turn 4 (with a 0 mana spell) or 5 (with a 1 mana spell) it's a Consacration. Rouge and Druid can benefit from this card

  • New Neutral Minion - Onyx Magescribe

Sticky stat for 6 mana. It will survive almost always and guarantee this way the spellburst effect. 2 spell are nice but it lacks of taunt...
For sure it will be great in arena

  • New Neutral Minion - Cult Neophyte

I like this card. It's not too op, but I can see it in an aggressive / heavy-tempo deck. This creature can be really strong until round 4-5 and indicate some ie (for example)

  • New Neutral Minion - Transfer Student

Fun effect for sure, but maybe it's too unreliable. However it's not to bad in general....maybe can find a spont in a highlander deck

  • Tips and Thoughts on Demons in this Meta - 12k MMR

Hey all, I'm Stryder and I'm a 12k MMR player in North America. According to HS Replay, despite having a pretty solid win rate (average placement of 4.19), Big Demons are one of the most unpopular deck types sitting at a popularity of 5.3% compared to Murlocs at 21.4%, Dragons at 14.6% and Mechs at 11.4%. I’ve found that big demons are one of my most consistent boards to consistently place top 4 and consistently place top 2 in non-murloc lobbies.
Here’s some thoughts and tips on going big demons, excluding anything about Jaraxxus because I think he’s fairly self-explanatory. Heroes that I typically play with Big Demons:
    • Pyramad – I find his hero power works really well in the early game while your Weaver is still growing. If you have a weaver on turn 1 and find two demons, you could potentially have a 5/13 minion by turn 3.
    • Maiev – I find that she does extremely well with Demons because you inherently end up staying on Tier 1 for a couple extra turns anyways, so you have a chance to look for Wrath Weavers and demons early on.
    • Hooktusk – she is absolutely awful post-nerf and you shouldn’t play her if you can avoid it, but her hero power does let you have additional chances at finding Tier 1 demons and Wrath Weavers
    • Rafaam – works well for the same logic as Maiev, you stay on tier 1 for a couple extra turns anyways so if Weavers show up in the shop you can grab them. People also love giving you 2/4 Vulgar demons when you’re Raf so you can likely get an early triple of these
    • George – again, not a great hero and you should probably avoid picking him, but unlike a lot of other compositions, a lot of your eventual end-game minions are bought pretty early so you can use your hero power on minions like Wrath Weavers and Soul Jugglers and these minions will be with you for most of the game. Playing demons and staying on Tier 1 a couple extra turns as George as opposed to tiering on turn 2 also reduces the chance you lose your first 4-5 fights fighting other heroes that have much more impactful early-game hero powers.
    • Reno Jackson – I won’t always use my hero power on the Wrath Weaver because once you do you’re forcing demons 100%, however if there is an early Wrath Weaver on board and one other demon, having a golden 6/6 by turn 3 that gains +4/+4 every single turn can usually guarantee you a spot in the top 4.
Other minions that really work well with big demons:
    • Goldgrubber – big demons often end up running a lot of golden cards on their board, between Wrath Weavers, Floating Watchers and Soul Jugglers being the most common, Goldgrubber works really well alongside these golden minions
    • Brann – I personally like picking up Brann when I play big demons, not only is it a good card to have on hand in case you want to transition to Murlocs but in the late game you can taunt most of your board and pick up some Strongshell Scavengers (give your taunt minions +2/+2) and beef up your stats quite quickly. Plus, with the introduction of Amalgadon having the Brann on hand gives it a couple extra adaptations and Amalgadon is always a welcome addition
    • Selfless hero – a bit of an underrated card in my opinion but having a golden selfless hero is amazing for a big demon board, especially when you’re not running jugglers and demon tokens.
    Other thoughts and tips:
    • Finding a golden Wrath Weaver is one of the most important aspects of the composition. Having a golden Wrath Weaver and 10 gold means it’s 5 health for a 20/20 buff on your minion in the early game. Often, I’ll find myself staying on a lower tier for an extra turn or two just rolling to make sure I get a golden Weaver.
    • Considering how fast the meta is right now, building a composition where essentially you cap out at tier 5 with Malganis and Voidlords is really nice because you don’t need to search for 6* minions to make your board work (such as Beasts with mama bear, Murlocs with megasaur and Pirates with Dread Admiral). Imp Mama is a nice addition if you’re playing jugglers but you absolutely don’t require one to make your board work. As a result, even if you don’t necessarily win 1st place in every lobby, I find you consistently do well with big demons because it’s less of a all-or-nothing approach going for those highroll discovers
    • 1/3 Unstable Ghoul combined with an imp mama on board is an effective way of fighting against mech boards and murlocs that may have divine shield, just be careful of cleaves because your imp mama will spawn a taunt demon to the right of herself
    • Sometimes when I murloc transition, I’ll save the Wrath Weaver and not sell it that turn, just as a bit of an insurance policy in-case I low-roll with my transition, having a taunted 50/50 Wrath Weaver is sometimes enough to kill a couple big minions and either win the fight or keep you alive. I also find when I do this I don’t necessarily always need to hit the nuts and get divine/poison murlocs, having a big Wrath Weaver on board and a couple of bran-bagurgled murlocs is sometimes enough and you can transition over the course of 2-3 turns rather than a single turn.
Here's a game of me playing Big Demons with Pyramad in which I tried to outline my thoughts throughout the video:

  • Mech-eating Ghoul Demon Hunter

Whoops, must have accidentally double-clicked Nethrandamus and missed that I didn't put Jeeves in the deck when making it on here. Thanks for pointing it out.

  • New Priest & Warlock Minion - Disciplinarian Gandling

Am I the only one who thinks this whole Priest/Warlock dual class thing is decidedly Warlock favored? Not that I'm complaining, Priests can eat a dick anyways.

So for Warlock this is almost like Dark Pharao Tekhan, except not a permanent effect. You throw this out, play your lackes and turn them into beefy boys. Obviously you use eggs as well, meaning there we now have a very decent sacrifice shell: this + Tekhan + lackey generators (cable Rat becomes a lot better with this in your deck). Possibly with a Discard package for draw (Or Galakrond, both work). Warlock is looking quite strong so far.

Priest on the other hand I have no faith in unless they get some really efficient deck thinning. Right now tempo priest absolutely cannot work purely because if you run out of cards you're done for. No cycling. At best you can try and steal something from your opponent's deck.

If Egg Priest were to work (it probably won't) it would need a solid shell (pun intended) first. Right now we have a disjointed mess. Priest doesn't generate that many lackeys and they don't really have a lot of small disposable minions.

At best I could see this in some sort of  Galakrond Priest to turn crappy minions into slightly less crappy ones.

I'm assuming we're gonna get some more support for this type of Priest, but it better be good or else they might as well have printed this as the solo Warlock legendary.

  • New Priest & Warlock Minion - Disciplinarian Gandling

If zoolock aint tier 1 now, than i don't know anymore. Also this seems good for priest as well, might actually make zoo/tempo priest finally viable! The only "bad" thing is that you can only use it for a lot of value late game, but hey reloading the board isn't that bad of a thing, and these decks can now run a similar package as FACE Hunter, with Leper Gnomes and so on. I'm honestly scared of Zoolocks powerlevel this expansion. Let's hope this wont be DH-level nerfs part 2, Warlock edition.

Also it looks like Dark Pharaoh Tekahn Might have been powercreeped (a little, Dark Pharaoh Tekahn will still be better in a lacky-based zoolock deck.)

if it said summon he would continuusly destroy his own spawns

    Staff

Cool effect AND has a lot of potential. The stats are great, and the effect can be extremely good.

Egg Priest? Sounds weird af, but it might happen.

    OH GOD

  • Disciplinarian Gandling is a New Priest & Warlock Legendary Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

    This + Nerubian Egg = 6 mana 11/14

  • New Rogue & Warrior Minion - Steeldancer

Warrior: This is decent for warrior, as they have a lot of high attack weapons like Wrenchcalibur and Gorehowl. not sure if this will be enough to make a Hack the System deck any good. This card MUST be the reason that [Hearthstone Card (Corsair cash) Not Found] got nerfed.

In wild this might see play in a more meme deck with Bladed Gauntlet, and it would work similarly to a Spiteful Summoner deck? Would be fun to see.

Rogue: The best weapons for rogue has 4 attack (in standard), these are: Waggle Pick and Hooked Scimitar. These cards were mainly used in tempo decks, so i guess Steeldancer is more of a FACE rogue card? So i'm guessing this will see play in stealth rogue, alongside Hooked Scimitar because you can curve them together (turn 3 Combo Hooked Scimitar into turn 4 Steeldancer. Waggle Pick is too slow as you will have to play Waggle Pick Turn 4, and then Steeldancer turn 5. Also Waggle Pick has a chance to accidentally Shadowstep the summoned minion.

In wild this might see play in a Kingsbane deck, but Kingsbane Rogue has fallen flat for a long time (ever since they nerfed Leeching Poison.) I don't think this card will make Kingsbane Rogue viable, as Kingsbane Rogue needs a slow WILD meta to thrive. And i don't think ODD DH and Secret Mage are going to slow down whatsoever.

  • New Priest & Warlock Minion - Disciplinarian Gandling

Fun flavor! Synergy with deathrattles (eggs?!) and lackeys. Could see some interesting experimentation.
