    Welcome back Duskbreaker on steroids!

  • New Priest Reveals - Mindflayer Kaahrj & Chronobreaker

Eh, I liked it better when it was called Duskbreaker

  • New Priest Minion - Mindflayer Kaahrj

Not sure if it will see wide play, but will definitely come in if some of these Big dragon decks start popping up.

  • New Card Reveal - Tentacled Menace

I guess it depends on the meta. If a mid-range meta will be stabilize i'm with you. The effect is cool - but for a 5 mana minion to expensive.

  • Hunter Weapon Reveal - Stormhammer

Seems very strong, but there's a natural, neutral counter in Kobold Stickyfinger so I don't think it will be meta-defning.

  • New Hunter Weapon - Stormhammer

We need to see more early-to-mid-game Dragons for this card to be really great, but it's still good.

Annoyed that they butchered the Gryphon Rider flavor by attaching dragons to it, but I guess that was about all that could be done to make it playable.

  • Stormhammer

I posted a general comment on the card to note flavor, but wanted to share that while I agree that the name sounds odd, the actual weapons, per Warcraft lore, are the famous weapons attributed to the flying Wildhammer Dwarves, who are generally classless, but I'd argue skew hunter, if only from their wild natures and deep bonds with their gryphon beasts.

  • New Hunter Weapon - Stormhammer

I'm not sure about this card yet. If Hunter can consistently build strong early-game boards with at least 1 Dragon in them, then the amount of pressure Stormhammer provides is scary. However, there aren't a plethora of cheap Dragons, so we must also consider how good it'd be in the mid- to late-game. 3 damage is a nice amount for that extra push to remove a must-kill minion or get through a Taunt, but you're taking damage to do it. In the late-game, where Dragons should be at their strongest, repeated 3 damage to face can help end the game if you have ways to get through any Taunts that might be played.

There's also the Ubiquity Paradox: the stronger a weapon is (and, thus, the more it's played), the weaker it becomes due to an increase of easy, cheap weapon removal techs.

I'll just say I'd be more surprised to see this in fast decks than as part of a finisher for slower decks.

  • New Card Reveal - Depth Charge

Still thinking about the video. Why spending 4 dmg. into the Charge...

  • New Neutral Minion - Tentacled Menace

Really disappointed in the Neutral Epics; outside of Kobold Stickyfinger they seem to all be meme-level or filler. This could see use in a Big archetype, but it probably won't because who really wants to risk it?

  • New Card Reveal - Depth Charge

    More like v0.5d

    :D

  • Stormhammer

To those wondering, per lore, Stormhammers were wielded by the Wildhammer Dwarves, notoriously fierce rulers of the sky, riding upon their trusted Gryphons, beasts whom they shared a deep bond. They used the sacred weapons, but didn't have a shamanistic connection with the elements embued in them, and when throwing them, they were known to return to the user. While they aren't necessarily tied to any class, one could argue that their wild natures, ranged DPS, bonds with beasts and friendships with elves could skew them hunter. Falstad (as seen in Warcraft lore and Heroes of the Storm) is a great example of one of these characters, famously leading a team to free the dragon queen herself, Alexstrasza, though they also battled dragons and dragon-riders as well, meaning they have a connection, both positive and negative, with dragons.

Can't say the card is a perfect capture for flavor, but the ties are there, for sure.

  • New Neutral Minion - Depth Charge

Great AoE in the early game, but it falls off pretty hard as the game goes on. I can see the comparisons to Doomsayer, but he has more Health and is guaranteed to destroy all minions in question.

  • New Hunter Weapon - Stormhammer

Exactly, this is a weird choice for hunter... would have been better as a dragon-powered bow

  • Hunter Weapon Reveal - Stormhammer

Team 5 designer1: Wow this shaman weapon is OP. We need to nerf it but i like it being a better Fiery War Axe :/

Team 5 designer2: Let's just give it to a different class then. *Throws a dart* Damn, Hunter?

    Team 5 designer1: Whatever

  • Hunter Weapon Reveal - Stormhammer

You: Fiery War Axe  vs. The guy she told you not to worry about:

  • Stormhammer

People have given it an average 2.85 stars in arena. Oh boy but people really have no idea what makes a strong arena card. The only reason this is epic rarity is because it would explosively increase Hunters power level in arena. Though given how weak they now are it might have been worth it.

  • Hunter Weapon Reveal - Stormhammer

    Pro

Looks very strong. Even just getting one extra swing off it is worthwhile.

  • New Hunter Weapon - Stormhammer

    Quote From Ardin

Stormhammers are typical weapons for Dwarven Gryphon Riders. And since Hunter got some Gryphons and Dwarves this expansion it kind of makes sense.

Also Gryphon Riders make most sense as hunters.

The dragon synergy is odd though.

If hunter got Falstad as a legendary it would be far better. (One of the dwarven leaders and a gryphon rider himself. Also called a true friend of the red dragonflight according to a Warcraft book Day of the Dragon...)

^ This saves me the bother of writing something similar. Even then though it feels like the biggest class mismatch since (and perhaps surpassing) Omega Agent.

Flavour aside, the card is clearly good if dragon hunter works out. Currently it looks like this might be the primary powerhouse of the deck, but the few times a weapon has taken that spot in the past (I'm thinking Kingsbane, Spectral Cutlass and Skull of the Man'ari) the payoff has been a lot bigger.

On paper it is very good, but very good hasn't always translated to being used competitively.

  • New Hunter Weapon - Stormhammer

Stormhammer seems to have found itself in the wrong class thematically, but otherwise this is great. You don't need a dragon on board any earlier than turn 4 to ensure this sticks around, and don't need more than one or two free swings to make this well worth the cost as a means of early game board control. All in all, a solid replacement for Eaglehorn Bow in any Dragon Hunter deck, and a fairly compelling reason to run Kobold Stickyfinger in a dragon-heavy metagame.

  • Stormhammer

Op weapon...in other class. In hunter probably can't be played :/

  • New Neutral Minion - Depth Charge

Doomsayer, but better for anti-Aggro purposes. Rare instead of Epic, comes down a Turn earlier, not easy to remove if played immediately. Worse than Doomsayer in the mid/late-game, assuming you can protect Doomsayer for a turn, but I daresay Doomsayer was most often played on Turn 2 or 3 against Aggro.

  • Hunter Weapon Reveal - Stormhammer

Ha, like everyone else is saying - I thought this was for sure a Shaman weapon on first glance! Reminds me of the early days in WoW, playing that Hunter and need rolling on EVERY WEAPON THAT EVER DROPPED!
