Mindflayer Kaahrj seems fine. If we assume you already have to pay whatever the cost is to kill your opponent's best minion, for 3 mana more you get a nearly vanilla minion and a free copy of that best minion. Obviously you'll lose out on battlecries, and you'll have to wait a bit for that copy, but there's enough value there to make Mindflayer Kaahrj a strong, albeit very slow, card. It's slow enough that I doubt most people will run it in their decks, but I can imagine being very excited to roll this minion from your hero power in a Galakrond Priest deck.
Mindflayer is a little strange. It feels like a Steal Priest card. The only purpose is to copy a valuable minion your opponent has. But it's a delayed effect because it's a deathrattle. And it's a deathrattle that only has any value through a battlecry. Cards that resummon the minion are not very good with it (Wretched Reclaimer, Embalming Ritual). Which means you need copy effects (Vivid Nightmare, Shadowy Figure, Power Word: Replicate) to make the most out of it. I don't know. I like the extra support for Deathrattle Priest but this card doesn't seem very good because you are completely dependent on your opponent to get any value out of it.
But Chronobreaker seems very powerful as a midrange minion that threatens your opponent's board if they try to remove it. Requires dragon synergy but that shouldn't be a big deal. The fact that it only damages enemy minions is a big deal. You can develop your own board freely while they will be punished when they remove this minion. It's pretty good.
This is a very compelling reason to cut the secret package in favour of dragons in highlander hunter IMO.
What's nice is that you don't *need* a dragon to use this weapon, at worst it's still a Fiery War Axe, but if you can drop a dragon on the turns when you need an attack you can milk a lot more damage from it.
With the cards in standard at the moment, I think this card is more at home in a mid-game tempo or greedy late game deck than an outright aggro dragonhunter build though.
There's little point to using this vanilla-ly. You can't rely on your opponent to play good minions, and if they have, you probably want to remove them instead. (unless you just want to enjoy some shenanigans)
That said, perhaps this could be fun with the deathrattle synergies in Priest. It's cheap, so it's easy to layer effects on it and build a board. If I pull it, I won't be happy, but I won't be miffed, either.
While not as effective as Duskbreaker for clearing the board, the card is great nontheless. Decent stats with a potential board clear. Even without taunt, the potential clear should force your aggro opoonents to sacrifice their minions so that they can rebuild another board.
The effect being a secret is not really important since your opoonent has to judge it as it being activated same as for Chillmaw.
Cool design, might enable some interesting plays and combos but I can't see a good enough reason to play this instead of anything else or build a deck around this. Maybe the meta will have a few staples that this will be very good against, or something. Really hard to judge this card currently, but I like the design so I hope this will find a home.
This is not necessarily a bad tool for Dragon Priest, but it's worse than Duskbreaker most of the time. With Duskbreaker, the 3 damage came down earlier and was immediate. Best case scenario here is that on turn 6 you hit your opponent with a 3 damage AOE to clear, and then have 6 mana to do what you want with. That's pretty good on its face, but it's not going to stop an aggro deck that has already run over you because your AOE has to wait a turn. Moreover, if you need an AOE on 5, you're typically better off using Mass Hysteria to clear, and if you need single target removal you could use the new Time Rip. The only minor advantage here is that you can play Chronobreaker without a dragon in hand and hope to get one before the effect needs to trigger.
Maybe I'm being unfair here - with tools like Embalming Ritual and Wretched Reclaimer to combo with this, the deathrattle might be better than a battlecry, but I expect that if its good enough to see play in a Dragon Priest deck, that deck will need to be a tempo oriented deck where you can fight for the board in the early turns and set up Chronobreaker as a way to suppress any comebacks from your opponent.
3/3 minion + deathrattle: summon a 3/4 minion or any larger.
How is this bad? It can fit well too as a tempo in the lategame because its very cheap to summon a copy of a big useful minion.
I dont even see this card as meme, its going to be seen everywhere... unless I dont know what exact the priest playstyle should be, then maybe I shouldnt be the one to judge it.
yeah, this card really need taunt, without it it's meh card, but it can be good if no mid range dragons in neutral set, coz dragon priest will need some mid drags for synergy also ok with resurrect and reborn. Oh, and very good with Galakrond, good random priest minion.
Everyone is complaining about that weapon should have belonged to Shaman or Paladin but I can see the connection with the hunter honestly and liked it.
Dwarven Gryphon Riders uses hammers most of the time and they all are like hunters more than paladins/shamans so I liked the flavor here.
Look how they themed hunter in this expansion around Gryphons/Riders/Dwarves and Primordial Dragons. I think it fits well and I have been playing hunter for a while in past. Also this Stormhammer is a ranged weapon with lightning power of it.
The term "Hunter" doesn't mean Ranger tho.
See Falstad Wildhammer for example. He is a Gryphon Rider and using a weapon like it.
Think there'll be any decks that buff the crap out of their minions? If so, this could be pretty good. I'll be honest, I'm not even sure summoning a copy would keep its buffs - my instinct says "No", and if so, then it'd only be worth copying minions with strong Deathrattles or persistent effects, or ones with huge base stats. So... probably an average card, another tool in Priest's back pocket.
Chronobreaker seems slow if you can't kill it in time and it doesn't have taunt either so it can be easily ignored. Most aggro decks will ignore it and possibly trade other minions instead. it seems too predictable when it gets played. Worst case it gets silenced/transformed or not killed in time.
Mindflayer Kaahrj seems pretty meh on play, but really good once it gets killed and gets that big minion. bad against aggro decks.

Presumably because the copies won't be actual copies, but just the same minion with its base stats

Stormhammer
I've been playing a Dragon Hunter deck in Wild since RoS. I will definitely take a look at my list and try and fit this card in there.

New Hunter Weapon - Stormhammer
Very strong card! People underestimate durability. Maybe some kind of Dragon Highlander Hunter will pop up?

New Priest Minion - Chronobreaker
Art is amazing though, reminds me of the Galaxy archetype in YuGiOh xd
Strong effect, but it might be too slow for Aggro meta's. Taunt or direct activators might make this card better however.
Chronobreaker
To be fair, this is a class card and not a neutral. But, I had the same first thought.

This card also works with cards such as Wretched Reclaimer, Shadowy Figure or even Reckless Experimenter for the guaranteed immediate effect.
A great card for dragon priest with a good amount of synergies.

New Priest Minion - Mindflayer Kaahrj
A delayed Faceless Manipulator? And only for enemy minions. Idk how good this card will be in the meta, but at first glance I'm not impressed.
New Priest Reveals - Mindflayer Kaahrj & Chronobreaker
It would be EXTREMELY bad card if it would summon it for your opponent

With so many dragons there’s probably gonna be more big targets for the card, so not too bad

Aggro will not play big minions
Mindflayer Kaahrj
Context. a delayed 3 mana 5/6 is not that good for Priest. Or I should say not good enough to be in a meta deck
New Priest Minion - Chronobreaker
Anduin, Aggro Annihilator (though this card is harder to trigger without Taunt).
New Priest Minion - Chronobreaker
Really doesn’t seem that great since it can be ignored against a swarm. Not having taunt makes it a lot worse

I liked the flavor of it tbh.
And card is great for midrange Dragon Hunter. I will probably craft it if i don't get it in my first packs.

Can’t help but feeling a little disappointed... a cheaper, less effective Sylvanas Windrunner
