I really like these kind of articles. I never played WoW, but the lore fascinates me, and with the history of the cards I can understand more of this world. Keep the good work!
The first thing that jumps out at me is the Kobold Lackey, a 1/1 for 1 mana that does 2 damage as a battlecry effect. This is comparable to the Elven Archer that is a 1/1 for 1 mana that does 1 damage as a battlecry effect. The 1 extra damage seems good at the same rate as our Basic Elven Archer card.
@Monkshow: for "free", if you own all 5 wings and you finish them all. So, if you meant you dont have to pay more on top of the price of wings, then no, you dont.
"At the end of your turn, add a random spell to your hand that costs 5 or more. It costs 0." would have been really nice for Big Spell Mage...assuming they counted, the results of which I do not recall offhand lel.
Well yeah other than Myra's shenanigans (which is probably just a meme) it is too late to do that when you ran out of cards... if you drew your deck you should have killed your opponent. 42/42 stats seems good but doesn't always kill your opponent if they held board clear just for this guy...
Bad top deck, but good board clear eventually... A little bit of misfit because it sometimes feels bad. Against aggro you might draw it too late and it doesn't clear, against control well you have it, but do you have anything to actually clear? and Against midrange depends on whether you can survive long enough for it to get value.
Value card, question is how much tempo is rogue willing to sacrifice for some lackeys. Even though lackeys are good. Something to consider there will be more lackeys added in next 2 expansions, so impact of this card might change (it might become better of worse)
Would be really good in Control mage. Something worth noting is that you don't have to use it with discovered spell you might just play him while having Flamestrike or Blizzard in hand and plan to play that if discovered spell is not better than what you already have. Just don't coin out this bad boy. LUL
Well decent card for token deck which wants to counter late game decks... But might be a tad bit too slow for how token druids usually go... 8 mana is just too expensive most of the times...
Love the theme behind the expansion, although I wished that as a Priest main the new hero wasn't 80 bucks. Welp, I'll still play with my Tyrande! On the other hand, as a pandaren fan the new Chef Nomi card feels like SUCH a cool card to use. Hakkar + Rafaam combo too.
Love the lore and the fact that they are bringing back some of the old enemies. Hope that every class will get strong cards and that the expansion will have a big impact itself, rotation aside.
I wonder if murloc decks will ever be standard-viable again. Since Adapt was an Un'goro keyword, I don't suppose they'll print something as powerful and versatile as Gentle Megasaur ever again. That board-wide Adapt was crucial for surprise lethals or against boardclears.

I hope there will be a lot of cards that generate these tokens. Seems like a nice mechanic.
Rise of Shadows PVE content value

I really liked the interpretation for Rhok'Delar; simple yet accurate.

Nice article! Now the condition and effect of Rhok'delar make more sense to me!
Rise of Shadows
Can't wait to see the new cards. The rotation will change the game quite alot
Chef Nomi
Well yeah other than Myra's shenanigans (which is probably just a meme) it is too late to do that when you ran out of cards... if you drew your deck you should have killed your opponent. 42/42 stats seems good but doesn't always kill your opponent if they held board clear just for this guy...
Spellward Jeweler
This is no Dirty Rat, but might have some applications, but mostly probably in combo vs combo maybe...
Arch-Villain Rafaam
Ok Rafaam, confess where are you hiding that golden monkey? I can see that you have it, I sense shenanigans!
Hagatha's Scheme
Bad top deck, but good board clear eventually... A little bit of misfit because it sometimes feels bad. Against aggro you might draw it too late and it doesn't clear, against control well you have it, but do you have anything to actually clear? and Against midrange depends on whether you can survive long enough for it to get value.
Togwaggle's Scheme
Pogo Hopper and then a couple of Lab Recruiters for good measure and we basically have Jade Druid 2.0
EVIL Miscreant
Value card, question is how much tempo is rogue willing to sacrifice for some lackeys. Even though lackeys are good.
Something to consider there will be more lackeys added in next 2 expansions, so impact of this card might change (it might become better of worse)
Forbidden Words
Priest can kill a 4 attack minion now just for 4 mana... OPOP
Kalecgos
Would be really good in Control mage. Something worth noting is that you don't have to use it with discovered spell you might just play him while having Flamestrike or Blizzard in hand and plan to play that if discovered spell is not better than what you already have.

Good shit.

List of Lackeys - Year of The Dragon Mechanic
Did you just call 1 drop with a random 2 mana minion attached underwhelming?
It is a good thing that they'll add lackeys later. That will give them a way to buff\nerf lackey cards should they be too weak\strong.
Rise of Shadows

Gentle Megasaur

New Rogue Spell - Togwaggle's Scheme
This card is amazing, especially for the fact that it can target enemy minions as well.
Rogue is my favourite class and can't wait to play it.
