It's most likely to fix a huge bug with Adria right now where she will go invisible/invulnerable. It makes the boss fight uncompletable unless you can melt her in seconds and it's led to the loss of a lot of bounty mats and hardcore characters in the process. A blue post earlier implied that they were doing whatever they can to fix this bug asap.
This is, indeed, what this was for. This issue should now be resolved. :)
