They probably should have had something new for long time players. I agree

We wanted to, but didn't have the ability to fit it in to Season 18. It's not off the table for there to be additional bonuses for future Seasons (similar to Season 17's extra set of Wings), it just wasn't in the cards for S18.

And a few days later it dies.

    That's fine.

Personal opinion here (and anyone who's met me IRL has heard this spiel), but I like to think of Diablo as a "comfort food" game. Sometimes you just have that craving for a very specific experience. You know Diablo is going to give that to you, reliably, until you've had your fill. And the next time you want it, it'll still be there and, most likely, provide a very similar experience.

But just like any favorite food, you don't necessarily want it all the time. There's nothing wrong with that! Coming back to it once in a while is what keeps it special and beloved. I don't play the game 24/7, and honestly, wouldn't want to; I like all kinds of games, and I have other competing hobbies too. But I very much love coming back each Season, playing with friends or my fiancee, reaching my goals, and doing it all over again the next time the reset happens. I suspect I'm not alone there. :)

I was mostly just referring to the fact Classic comes out 3 days later.

    Hey can y'all ban botters?

We have too many different game teams at Blizzard to not be stepping on someones toes, pretty much all the time. Not each game shares the same audience while some have more cross-over than others, but for the most part, we're all doing what we do independently out of necessity.

Sort of a different way of looking at "it's out when it's ready."

In other words botters are safe again this season. Thanks for the confirmation.

Botters are never safe. We just can't talk about our processes or procedures because it's a constant development war; their programs versus ours.

It's not something we've ever stopped doing or working on. But we can't and won't talk about it because it's an arms race, and we won't give up an advantage for the sake of transparency. This is one of those few places where transparency isn't necessarily the right answer.

well can't complain. Neva, I have a question to u.. nothing personal but legit something I noticed for years.. Blizzard named our region Americas, but in your posts it was always NA. Not that this changes the game, but why did u always prefer to call it that way? why always ignored OCE/SA as part of the region?

Honestly, this is mostly a disparity on how we label things internally vs. externally. You're absolutely right in that it should be the Americas, not just NA. But we post the NA time (PST), and when I'm working on publishing, I think from NA because that's the region I write for. Everything else goes through a localization or regional team.

That's on me to think more globally, and I appreciate the feedback. I'll see if I can hammer that down into my brain a bit more firmly. :)

nah it was my bad, I made a stupid comment. Let's think about it in a different way: would you ask the team responsible for the br/pt page (https://us.diablo3.com/pt/blog/23093786) to change it in order to avoid confusion?

    thanks neva

I can certainly send that feedback on. <3
