Hello! Long time lurker here. I've been working on and off on a time magic themed class, and it's finally at a stage where I feel like it's worth sharing.

Having always been a big fan of time travel as a mechanic in storytelling and game design, I wanted to see if I could merge it into Hearthstone in a way that isn't overly complex. Aren'thal Sunwalker the Chronomancer is the result of my attempt! Cards for all expansions except Karazhan have been created.

Would love to hear what you guys think... thanks in advance!

Thank you! Actually, the Arrival effect is designed to be specifically different than Battlecry. In theory, minions with both Warp and Battlecry will still trigger the Battlecry immediately upon being played. (Though, there aren't currently any minions with these two effects combined.) Arrival effects are strictly triggered when a minion exiting Warp. The reason for this distinction is because there exists effects and spells for the Chronomancer that can put friendly minions into Warp. In this case, it gets a little complex and unwieldy if Battlecries are triggered when a minion exiting Warp. For example, playing an Elven Archer and then giving it Warp (1) -- if it triggers its Battlecry again at the start of the next turn, what would be the target this time? How will the user interface accommodate this effect? So that's sorta why Battlecries and Arrival effects are made to be different.

Yep, I saw some of those other cards that wouldn't function if battlecry was subbed in. I think maybe you are correct to use two mechanics, especially because they are always tied together like this. I was mostly suggesting there is some upside to using less new keywords, and if you can get away with introducing less new mechanics but the same amount of fun that it's usually worth it. In this case, might be worth doing both...I like a lot of the gameplay involved in the examples you left.

Really cool, I'll get to the rest of the album at work. I wonder if there is a way to cut 'arrival' and just use battlecry instead so you introduce less mechanics but get the same effect. Maybe it's fine to introduce two keywords if they are always attached to one another, something to think about.
