Hearthstone: An Adventure Across Azeroth
Hello Reddit. I've always been a fan of the Adventures in Hearthstone and I've wondered about a potential story mode. So I've decided to make on myself.
The main idea is that each month Blizzard releases 1 or 2 zones (One in Eastern Kingdoms and one in Kalimdor ans then the other continents after that). Here is a mockup of the menus: Link.
Within each zone is a series of boss fights which will tell a small tale for the zone. Each zone contains 13 unique cards, with one for each class and a neutral common, rare, epic and legendary with each boss fight rewarding 2 of the cards and the legend as a zone completion reward. The class cards can range from common to epic, but not legendary for class balance reasons. Here is an album of the cards for Elwynn Forest: Link.
Each month bundles the zones together at a cost of $10 to $15 depending on if blizzard releases 1 or 2 zones in a month. This seems reasonable as an adventure of ~30 unique cards is $25 so 15 fewer cards is ~$10 cheaper. The main issue with this is the rising entry costs to get into the game so I propose that after 3 months of a zone being out, it becomes free. This will mean that new players will have access to a larger pool of cards which are (slightly) more up to date with the current meta including a few cool legendary cards!!! Players who have been playing for awhile can either choose to wait the 3 months and get the content for free or pay the unlock fee. Eventually, new players may have access to a whole expansion's worth of new cards to use and experiment with.

This is really cool, I sort of like the idea of smaller scale adventures that are all tied together. Sweet mockups, too.
