New paladin secret in curse of naxxramas!

But might it happen at some point? Also what was the original intention to only make it available to 3/8 classes? I mean looking at weapons the selection makes sense but atleast rogue would be a clear candidate for secrets in my book and hunter already shows that classes can use both, secrets and weapons. That you need a set amount of secrets to make them work makes a lot of sense ofc.

Edit: Also given your answer to my question I assume that hunter and mage both get atleast one new secret like paladin. :P

The sky is the limit in the future!

Why are only hunters, mages and paladins getting secrets and not lets say rogues?

Those are the only classes with Secrets that currently exist. If we were to introduce Secrets to other classes in Naxx, we'd have to make a variety of Secrets for that class, or else they'd be too easy to guess. Since there's only 30 cards available to acquire in Naxx, if we were to make 4 of those Rogue (or whichever class) only, it would make players of other classes very sad as well. It's not a good fit to introduce new Secrets for classes that don't already have them in Naxx.

If you have multiple valid targets on board, will it pick a random one?

Yes, it will pick a random valid target on the Paladin's board.

So it will only activate if there is a valid target?

    Correct.

Now I gotta wonder what happens when you wipe the board. Does it fizzle or does it just not trigger?

If you have Avenge active and your opponent wipes the board with a spell, like Flamestrike for example, Avenge won't trigger. It'll hang out and won't be wasted.
