If we don't get some features b/c they would confuse new players, would you pay for an 'expert mode' version of the app that had more functionality?

I've seen people say over and over we can't have nice things b/c it would clutter up the UI or confuse new players. Ok, while for some things I can get behind that for others we may not be giving people enough credit. I don't know, I'm not a designer and defer to the experts. But it does seem like an opportunity for another solution.

I see a coupe different options:

  • A separate version of the app, like a tournament edition, for more experienced players. Maybe that version of the app costs more but gives you access to it across platforms (android/ios/PC).
  • Or being able to pay to unlock additional features

This could enable us to get

  • our deckslots we want to be able to explore new decks without having to take apart our old ones.
  • Additional emote options
  • A button to toggle on/off using our gold cards instead of having to edit every deck to include them
  • An enhanced filter/search experience
  • Being able to scroll through the history of what cards have been played instead of just seeing the last few game actions

The downside is maintaining 2 different versions of the software. I'm a programmer by training and have over a decade in IT industry experience so I understand this presents a different set of obstacles but they are not insurmountable. This could require either a 1 time purchase or a small monthly subscription so that you get additional features as they come.

There could be some obvious concerns with this. Am hoping instead of people just saying how this can't work come up with what it would take to make it work.

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to say we don't have anything to talk about in terms of more deck slots at the moment but I appreciate the thoughtful response.
