Thanks, Hearthstone devs

I just caught this Twitter thread, not Hearthstone-specific, but about how hard it can be for game developers to interact with their communities, which frankly can be pretty bipolar:

Some choice quotes:

Forums and comment sections are full of dunning-kruger specialists who are just waiting for any reason to descend on actual developers.

We love to talk about development, the challenges we face, the problems we solve, the shortcuts we take. But it's almost never worth it.

I did a public talk a couple weeks ago to a room full of all ages kids, and afterwards, a kid came up to me and was talking about stuff. And I shit you not, this kid (somewhere between 13-16 I'd guess) starts talking about how bad devs are because of a youtuber he watches.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the Hearthstone devs, because I know they get a lot of complaints, but also that they do a lot of good work, and they do a lot more to communicate their challenges and learning experiences than I would honestly expect.

Well, he's right; this rule Blizzard has written into the game where RNG is negatively slanted against Kripp is kind of bad game design and I have no idea why Blizzard would put that in.

Like seriously why would you do that?

Come on, have you seen a salty Kripp video? It's hilarious!
