I'll pass these along to the team, but it's a good idea to post on the Bug Report forum, since that gives our staff who are directly involved with these investigations a chance to follow-up and ask questions if necessary.
Right beneath that, they say it will appear 50% less in drafts.
Which is it?!
It has been updated in 9.2 to no longer appear. I can see how that might not be clear, though, since the original post wasn't dated. Updating the forum post now.
Unlicensed Apothecary now reads: “After you summon a minion, deal 5 damage to your hero.” It will no longer activate from any Evolve effects.
Now that it is after, does it no longer trigger when resummoned from guldan??
No. It will continue to activate when summoned by gul'dan. Effectively, each of the demons summoned by Gul'dan are random and sequential, so it will trigger from each demon summoned after it hits the board.
NOTE: If you have an Arena run in progress when Hallow’s End begins on October 24, then it will be retired and you’ll receive the normal rewards for the number of wins you achieved and a free Arena ticket. In the hours just before the beginning and conclusion of Hallow’s End on October 24 and November 6, it will temporarily be impossible to purchase a new Arena ticket.
I hope this precedent of auto-retiring arena runs prior to changes continues. My personal vision for arena has always been constant rotation of various sets, including wild sets. The fact that you "buy" arena runs has inherently been a roadblock for this, as people are losing an investment if their deck is auto-retired. Forcing old decks to retire before an arena change is a big step towards enabling this type of set rotation, and personally I like the hard-line approach of forcing people into playing their decks rather than sitting endlessly on super strong drafts.
This is good step towards building a more interesting and healthy arena meta.
We're planning on using this for future events where it makes sense in addition to when the new standard rotation happens next year.
The demons summoned by Krul should work the same way. So Apothecary would only activate for any demons that happened to be summoned after it hits the board.
"Should work" or do they actually work the same way and who knows this?
Well, to be specific, Krul pulls the demons from your hand in left to right order, but Apothecary will trigger from each demon summoned after it is.
I tend to use "should" because I'm relating my understanding of how a card works in the moment, and everyone makes mistakes. I confirmed that this is the intended functionality for Krul just now, though.
I guess my question here is why are these effects sequential?
Both cards certainly read like the summons are simultaneous, and with the update to check the entire field before resolution, I would assume that the apothecary would not go off.
Hearthstone doesn't really have a concept of things happening simultaneously. Since each minion summoned can begins a sequence (as in, the official term describing Hearthstone mechanics), they're summoned one by one so they can interact correctly with various mechanics.
So that means you plan on keeping arena standard until then and possibly indefinitely. What happened to rotating arena sets? Honestly standard arena is pretty stale right now. Would be nice if that happened sometime soon.
Dual-Class Arena will be here soon. This also is not a confirmation that arena will be standard indefinitely, it just means that arena will most likely be standard format on rotation day, which I think is the best time for the format to be standard.
That may be true but it's also many months away. Regardless, thank you for your answer. Will have to wait for 2018 then.
Again, this is not what we're saying. On release day, on rotation day, Arena is likely to be standard format to showcase the big change that will have just happened in Hearthstone. Time after that, and time leading up to that, don't have a set in stone plan at this point.

Make sure you have the mobile update first! For various reasons, they tend to be available a few hours after the PC/Mac update rolls out.
