Blizzard made dungeons the way they intend to make the game: a really fun experience
We see many interviews or videos where Team 5 (most often Brode) say that "we want the players to enjoy the game, to have fun"
Well I really feel that they nailed it on the dungeons. I really loved some previous adventures but the dungeon runs are such a fun experience. It feels like they did a lot of work, even with most of the events being random I don't feel like they just throw things randomly and hoped for the best. It really feels "consistent", there are LOTS of interactions, lots of combinations and bosses, cards "groups", treasures, passives.
And on top of that, the whole thing not only is free, but you can literally have 0 cards in your collection and still have the same experience as someone with a full collection.
Thank you Team 5 for the huge effort I feel that you put into something with such a random nature. The end result is excellent!
Edit: u/ToxicAdamm mentioned that credit for the lead design goes to Peter Whalen!
Ben Brode
So glad you’re enjoying them! Peter was the Lead Initial Designer on the collectible cards and helped with the dungeons as well, but Dave Kosak is the Lead Mission Designer, and Paul Nguyen did a ton of the design as well. We did a LOT of playtesting and the whole team gave design feedback throughout development. Obviously design is only a small part, the vfx, sfx, and engineering heroics required to make it all look and sound great are fairly critical!

DreamQuest was definitely inspiring to the entire team. :)
