Survey results - What do you want from in-game tournaments?
On Monday I put up a short survey about in-game tournaments, and promised to follow up before today's announcement.
As a reminder, this was not a random survey, so do not make the mistake of making an inference of the population as a whole. These kinds of surveys are best for finding what questions need to be investigated, and not for drawing conclusions.
Here is a link to the summary of results. I also put together two very rough visualizations that I thought were interesting.
This view compares the two questions where respondents were asked to rank their interest using the Likert scale in two different tournament formats from 1 to 5, where "1" means they were not interested, and "5" means they were very interested:
For the shorter tournaments (less than three hours), over 80% of respondents ranked their interest at 3 or higher, with an average of 3.7. Interest in longer tournaments with larger prizes was much lower.
This chart shows the percentage of the respondents by where they ended up last season, with their lifetime spend on Hearthstone grouped into three categories. This one can prompt a couple of discussions, and I'm curious to see the response.

TL;DR - Players would be very happy with inexpensive, easily accessible tournaments, but sad if tournaments require large time/gold investments.
