I guess just general single player content will come out each expansion. Leaving it open to either being story based or a new mode.
Tweedle is correct. The current plan is to have single-player content associated with each expansion. For Frozen Throne we had the Icecrown Citadel missions, for Kobolds we have a Dungeon Run.
I haven't found a definitive answer for this, but is this a new permanent mode like Tavern Brawl? And could be updated in the future with new bosses, cards, etc.?
The current plan is that this content will stay as part of Kobolds & Catacombs, and won’t be updated with new cards and encounters going forward.
The AI better be competent Blizzard or this whole mode with all the awesome stuff in it will fail.
We discovered that much of the fun in this mode comes from crafting a deck and piloting through progressively more difficult challenges. You have to be ready for anything and change your strategy on the fly. It’s also a lot of fun to see how you can leverage your treasures to build totally OP decks. In that context, the AI doesn’t have to be brilliant to provide fun challenges. Most of our time was spent ensuring that it wasn’t making obvious misplays and correctly used the hero powers to ensure you were always on your toes. Curious to see what you think about the AI once the full mode is available and you get to make a few runs!
"One of the five final bosses"? So the 48 bosses aren't in eight difficulty tiers of six bosses each?
Any word on how they're arranged?
There are three “First bosses” (two of which we saw at BlizzCon - the Giant Rat and the Wee Whelp. It still tickles me to hear the innkeeper announce, “Jaina! Vs.! A GIANT RAT!”). And as I say in the video, five final bosses. The rest of the encounters are spread out according to difficulty.
Some encounters are weird and a few are set to be rare, to keep you on your toes. We briefly mentioned “A room full of traps” at BlizzCon. Good luck with that one!
