Trigger Rules Update - We're updating the rules regarding how Poisonous, Lifesteal, and Overkill keywords work in specific cases, to make cards behave in a more intuitive way.

So... you're not going to explain how they were updated? Nothing at all in the patch notes?

Hey there, sorry for the confusion! This was something that was accidentally assumed to be complete, but we're still working on it and it hasn't gone out yet. We're working on getting the patch notes fixed.

To clarify, right now, there is no change in how Poisonous, Lifesteal, and Overkill triggers function. We are planning to release a small edge-case adjustment within the next couple weeks. This change is small, and probably won't be noticed by the majority of players. However, I'll go ahead and explain what that change will be instead of leaving y'all confused...

Right now, if a card loses a Poisonous, Lifesteal, or Overkill keyword in the time between dealing damage and applying its keyword, that keyword will not be applied. For example, imagine I attack my [[Stubborn Gastropod]] into my opponent's [[Acolyte of Pain]]. Then when Acolyte of Pain triggers, it draws a [[Scroll of Wonder]], which in turn casts [[Silence]] on my Stubborn Gastropod. Right now, my Stubborn Gastropod won't get to apply its Poisonous keyword, and the Acolyte of Pain will live.

This feels wrong to us, so the change we're making is that if a card has a Poisonous, Lifesteal, or Overkill keyword at the moment it deals damage, that keyword will apply no matter what. Going back to the above example, my Stubborn Gastropod will still apply Poisonous after being silenced and the Acolyte of Pain will die.

Again, this change is not currently live! We'll make an update when it is actually rolled out.

This is an incredibly specific, niche and Wild-only example, but what about something like [[Acidmaw]] in a similar situation? It applies the equivalent of a Poisonous aura to the board, but I doubt it's coded the same way as the keyword. Would this change affect that, or other similar weird effects?

Acidmaw would not be affected by this change since it uses its own unique trigger and not the Poisonous keyword.
