Is there the possibility of a tier 1 deck appearing that nobody has ever thought about?

    *waves hand* anything's possible!

How random are the decks for the burndown? Is literally every possible combination of 30 cards + hero class that doesn’t violate deck building rules a candidate in this brawl? Or is there some kind of shorter premade list or algorithm that narrows down the possibilities (and if so about how many decks are there?)

I’m mostly thinking about how it seems the # of decks theoretically possible if all legal combinations are allowed would be astronomically high compared to the # of players who participate

The decks are created using special rules that will ensure that there are some synergies. Not pre-made, not pure random. Should be interesting!

Hi,just asking, you get THE LAST COPY of the deck your opponent beat you with, right?Like,if I play Arch-Villian Rafaam and beat the opponent, will his deck just be legendaries.Or when in fatigue and winning with Mecha'Thun, what happens? Will the opponent just get no cards?

You will get a copy of the deck as it was at the start of the match.

Its not clear from the description what happens if you win. Do you keep the deck, or do you get a new random deck?

You keep the deck. There's also a score screen that shows how many times you won with that deck.

15k hp ragnaros? Big priest says hi

You use pre-made decks for the League of E.V.I.L.... and yes, Big Priest.

To get the golden cards, does the time start when you first open the tavern brawl?

It starts from when you start the first boss, after mulligan. It also is a real world timer, not a game time timer. As in, you start the first boss come back a week later you'll have a completion time of many hours.

The bigger point of concern is that Uldum is on the southernmost tip of Kalimdor, the major western contient on Azeroth. Blackrock Mountain is a bit south of the center of the Eastern Kingdoms, a continental cluster on the opposite side of the world. Aside from when it was first uprooted, the flying city of Dalaran has canonically occupied airspace over Northrend (basically the Arctic circle), over the Broken Isles (off the west coast of the Eastern Kingdoms), and over Karazahn (halfway between Blackrock Mountain and the southern tip of the Eastern Kingdoms). While it would make sense for the city to drift or visit other lands aside from those locations, we've never seen actual evidence that this has happened, since travel in the past involved concerted deliberate action from numerous members of the Kirin Tor, usually during periods of existential crisis.

Do you see what I'm getting at here? To crash into Blackrock Mountain, either the League of E.V.I.L. is trying to circumnavigate the globe, or they're really lost. I've never heard of someone reaching Kalimdor by traveling to the east before. Maybe they've decided to finally prove false all those rumors about another continent on the back of the globe??

    they're really lost.

Will you guys be keeping track of the data from the Burndown? I’m an ecologist who does some evolutionary biology and I feel like it’s such a brilliant virtual analogue for evolution or developing ecosystems, I’d love to see the data on that (besides also being potentially amazing for science communication).

We are tracking the data but I couldn't tell you exactly the shape of it. Will bring it up with the folks who manage that.

My understanding is that there is a max of 7 legendary quests completed between those dates, with no more than 1 offered per day.

The only max is we're rolling out the 7 quests over the first 7 days. After you complete a quest if the next one is available you'll get it, so on the 7th day you could hypothetically do all 7 in succession.

Since Blackrock Crash looks to be structured like a dungeon run (a format which has an inherent replay value), is there any chance we might see it added to the Solo Adventures list after the event is over?

Unlikely to be added to Solo Adventures but I'm sure depending on the response we'd be happy to run it again in the future. Really this tech is a whole new way for us to create cool stuff and we're excited to see how this goes.

I don't get the timezones so can someone kindly tell me when the new event starts?

Basically whenever your Tavern Brawl starts, we tied most of the timings around those.

All of this sounds cool, but I'm kinda excited about 'The burndown' brawl week, where your next match uses the deck that beat you. People have been asking for a brawl like that for ages.

I love Blackrock Crash a ton but I think The Burndown is going to be the sleeper hit of the event.
