This weeks Tavern Brawl is "A Temporus Shift" (June 26, 2019)

Chalk Board

Description: Build a standard deck and each turn (except the first turn this time) you'll get an extra turn.

  • Rewards is a Classic Pack
  • This is a constructed brawl
  • This is a Standard Brawl
  • This is the second time we've seen this brawl. The first time was November 14, 2018. The previous discussion thread can be found here.

Does that mean the player going second gets the first double turn? I think that would be very interesting.

Correct, second player gets the first double turn.

If you ever bring back It's Raining Mana! I'd suggest implementing the same change there (i.e. the first player gets 1,3,5 mana while the second player gets 2,4,6 mana). It might be possible to do away with the Coin and extra starting card if you're alternating who gets the first turn advantage each turn.

Great suggestion, I could see that working.

It's definitely an improvement. I played a couple times and both games felt like anybody could win.

Can you share the statistics from the first incarnation of this brawl? Did player 1 have an 80% + winrate?

Wasn't that dire but it was enough that I would call it a problem.

    Alarm-O-Bot all legendary deck.

Oh that's a really neat strategy!

    Hey hey!

As you may have noticed the first player no longer an extra turn to start. Last time we ran this the first turn advantage was really strong so we're seeing how this change works out (curious if/how far it swings in the other direction). Interested to see the decks you all make to best utilize the double turns!
