      @Tabayrak I'll be doing a thread talking about the passives I think could get a nudge. I'm not an expert in any way in Duels! I just play it sometimes for fun. 1. Arcanite Crystal: Compared to other treasures, reducing by 1 only a spell, and not less by 1, seems underwhelming. Could be 2.

        @Tabayrak 2. Grommash's Armguards: Weapons are already a very specific type of card, and reducing them only by one, seems a tad underpowered. Maybe it could also give them a little buff? Like +1 Attack, or just +1 Durability.

          @Tabayrak 3. Firekeeper's Idol: In paper, it seems nuts! Summon a 1/2 elemental for each fire spell, but when you take account what happens in the late fights in duels, it does almost nothing. Maybe the Elemental could be a little stronger, 2/2?

            @Tabayrak 4. Party Replacement: This is a nutty passive. But I'd like it to be nerfed again, and not made rarer, as it's a very frustrating passive to play against. I've seen a suggestion that I really liked before. Maybe you start with -1 Mana Crystal to compensate the free 2/2's.

              @Tabayrak 5. And finally, Ooops, All Spells! Most decks that pick this passive just ignore it's drawback, and as a result get a free Incanter's Flow + A Mini Arcanist Dawngrasp just by starting the game. The mana reduction could be gone.

                @Tabayrak 6. This is the end of the mini-thread. I just want to remind that I really like the direction you guys are going with Duels! Specially the communication. All of these suggestions are just my opinion, so there could be some bias.

      @Tabayrak i'd like to answer your question with questions of my own - can you walk through the reasoning behind moving rally/party/oops to ultra rare instead of removing or rebalancing? do you generally think that rarity nerfs are an effective way to adjust balance?

        @RidiculousHat @Tabayrak Thanks for framing it like this. I’m really interested in any answers. Balancing with offering odds for individual cards in Arena doesn’t feel good when they get the ultra-rare and it wins the game. Balancing offering odds by class to lessen winrate spread, feels much better

          @GluchLucky @Tabayrak for what it's worth i am not sure where i land - i think there's a lot of value to duels offering unique play experiences and i think the idea of something like party replacements is really cool but shouldn't happen every run. i am mostly curious as to the logic

            @GluchLucky @Tabayrak my question wasn't rhetorical because i could totally see these particular passives not actually being huge power outliers - especially if you can't rely on building around them. but i could also see this as a bandaid until the passive algo is adjusted again

              @RidiculousHat @GluchLucky Duels is really fortunate to have a bunch of nobs for tuning. A complexity we have when it comes to tuning cards in general is the amount of lead time other supporting teams need. Where as moving pools and adjusting rarity requires far less. Most of the time this is a Band-Aid.

      @Tabayrak I personally felt like Duels was a top tier mode, maybe the best, when passives were 100% deterministic. I think it requires more delicate balance, but it can and should be done imo. The absolute worst feeling is when you have a deck idea, you do great, and get bad passives.

        @Tabayrak Playing Duels after that change got pushed was really annoying. I'd see a cool deck, try and make it, and fail once or twice. It felt like a waste of time playing out a deck that was just going to meet better passives and fizzle out at 3 wins or whatever.

          @jrhsk8 Jack! One day we will see the return of more deterministic treasures. There will be a bit of a difference from what you may expect though. The goal of the system will be to always give you a treasure that supports your deck.

            @jrhsk8 There is a fair amount of legwork I need to do before we get to that point, and I hope we do. That leg work is more passives. This will curb the likelihood you will always feed you a specific treasure and instead encourage the system to support the deck you made with a viable one

      @Tabayrak How about re-designing the whole duels deck building, and say we accumulate some sort of "duel golds" as we proceed, and either risk & keep saving for a big reward later in our run or buy small upgrades like a little bucket of minions, or passive or active treasure?

      @Tabayrak it just seems hideously difficult to do. i've not been satisfied since a bit before, the passives suiting deck changes, but i haven't personally thought of a way i'd do any of the changes better- it all kind of made sense. good luck! maybe a bit swifter?

      @Tabayrak unlocked potential is worthless and all together now is very underwhelming, from the swamp is pretty worthless as well and cannibalism. Erie stone could use help, fel stone might be the worst passive ever, can small backpacks really not be 2 cards?

      @Tabayrak Bees, Caltrops, Books of wonders, Felstone, Deathly Death, dragons blood, eerie stone, greedy gains, hagatha's embrace, Inspiring presence, invigorating light, robes of shrinking, floor is lava, tier 2 ATN, robes of shrinking, armguards, and unlocked potential are all to weak.

        @Tabayrak I never want these passives under any circumstances. You can give them buffs or delete/replace them but I find a huge downside of duels is there is so many terrible passives that a lot of runs are hopeless because your passive don't do anything.

      @Tabayrak Interaction between The Exorcisor and Avenging Armaments is broken. I silenced the minions, meaning no divine shield, every one, despite getting lethaldamage, came back with 1 health and more damage, but I only took original damage in the attack.
