      This isn't true for all creators. Just a general statement. If you're an account like @ben_heathstone and your content lives on Twitter/Insta and is news/informative it's different. Content Creators (especially smaller creators) will be the ones hit with the "yo yo" effect more

        @alkali_layke I got a good follower bump after my 1st Twitter giveaway prompting these memes I made. 😁 Some warned I’d lose a lot of followers after the giveaway, but I didn’t see a drop. Happy folks stuck around! 😅 https://t.co/QR3kwHj8hl

          @ben_heathstone Haha! Nice! Yeah, I said it before in another tweet...your type of acct is different and not affected as much by the type of swings that come from a giveaways.

          @diego_riq_bravo @ben_heathstone Facebook is a tough one lately. I would suggest a video asset to promote a giveaway there.

      @alkali_layke so do you have any recommends on different approaches?

        @jcandance Engagement. Engagement. Engagement. Example: "Post a pic of your pet next to your Hearthstone collection. I'll choose a winner" This allows you to a) Comment on all cute pets & ENGAGE with followers b) Get to know your fans c) build a community (they will comment on each other)

          @jcandance People will be more likely to follow you if you interact with them, and then it's not an "empty" follow

            @alkali_layke sure. makes sense. I was thinking more "hey we are going to give away on my stream on such and such a date"

              @jcandance that works too :) It would equal less twitter followers, but people who actually click through and make it a point to join are more likely to be long term community members

      @alkali_layke Giveaways can definitely help with initial twitter growth but if you don't follow it up with constant engagement and interesting content it really doesn't mean much and you see most Hearthstone content creators losing twitter followers every month. I actually grow without them.

        @ZeddyHS "I actually grow without them" --said by the man who doubles down on content creation more than most people. :) You grow because you're consistent more than anything. Hats off to that!

      @alkali_layke We prefer to host tournaments with the support that Blizzard gives us. We respect the dynamics of giveaways, but in our community we love to have people active in the game. As a result, we are a small but strong community growing organically. We accept suggestions. https://t.co/nG8njHDRB0

      @alkali_layke Absolutely! I used to hemorrhage followers after every giveaway. Definitely a good tool to get exposure when you're smaller, but you gotta back it up with good content if you want people to stick around

        @SuperiorDavidHS @alkali_layke Solution: create superior content 🤘🏼

            @alkali_layke @SuperiorDavidHS @SuperiorDavidHS only knows how to create superior content, no use in asking him 😂

              @eternaldamien @SuperiorDavidHS I was craving the Superior Response. I'm needy.

      @alkali_layke The most important part is what you are doing at the time of the giveaway / shortly after, I would say. Also, the idea with engaging giveaways is nice, but the problem is that the potential reach is a lot smaller - tho the connection with those followers is a lot closer.

        @neon31HS Partially...there are lots of other factors too. Proper use of giveaway tools, for starters. Some giveaway tools can only choose from the last 100 RTs. Some people don't even have their RT visibility turned on (and don't know it). LOTS of things.

      @alkali_layke gotcha, so what you are saying is we need more giveaways more consistently, learning so much 🤔
