@kchironis Tell us what you thought! I am personally interested in their take on narrative systems, worldbuilding, but really anything

@IksarHS top line: - core combat/loop ace as always - fantastic design & flow of the overworld; novel and surprising secrets around every corner. feels the way great D&D *should* feel. - character builds penalize build exploration and seem to push it to NG+ runs - item system is wtf

@IksarHS i understand what they're going for with the world narrative but think they likely intended to make alternative ending paths slightly less obtuse. having built alternative ending systems for nonlinear narrative games before, i see the struggle in their execution

@IksarHS lastly, this could just be me but the rollout of the world generally feels very thoughtfully curated and then the last section (farum azula onwards) feels somewhat hastily assembled and scattershot tonally; suspect there may have been some cuts there but really can't be sure

@kchironis 'what great D&D should feel like' is a great description. also found the item system to be ??? even if I did think a lot of the weapons were very cool and interesting (maybe that is enough?) I am a lore nerd but wasn't at all invested in the story, I wanted to be very badly :(
