The amount of noodling we do on exact wording, line breaks, bolding and capitalization, etc., would shock most people. The goal isn't about 100% consistency. It's about optimizing how many people understand it on their first read. https://t.co/MIq5lRovh1

One of the big benefits of being a digital game is that we don't have to include super rules-lawyer-sounding verbose text. We can use shorthand, natural phrasing, inconsistency, etc., in the name of increased general understanding. The server will answer any edge-case questions.

@Celestalon @MyntyPhresh Is similar attention paid to localized versions of the card text by designers? How does localization work when card text is so critical to someone’s understanding of how the game works? In projects I’ve worked on, German can be tricky because it can be long. Thanks!

@codechemist @MyntyPhresh We have a great localization (not just translation) team for each region that tries to follow the same principles. It definitely adds another dimension of challenge to this all. I know that in some low-information-density languages they regularly use more than 4 lines of text.

@Celestalon If you decided this thoroughly, then go ahead and change all the "split between" wording for all the past cards. Players like me have OCD when wording in HS is always inconsistent throughout the years. It's as if those cards have different effect when the wording is different.
