People keep saying Hearthstone is rigged and matchmaking screws them over.. turns out there could actually be some merit to it. I hate conspiracy theories a lot, but activision has a patent describing how it fixes matchmaking to increase revenue. A rabbit hole worth exploring?

@ItsBen321 Im 6,5k and more than once ive played with top 10 players like Guddummit/sorren. Idk the matchmaking doesnt always make sense from an economic standpoint. Don't think they use the same MM philosphy as in Call of Duty for example, but could be fun exploring

@ItsBen321 I do have to mention i queued up with people that were between 7-8k so we had a premade lobby of 4. Maybe you get put in higher lobbies when you're entering the game as 4

@badajimpom @ItsBen321 The matchmaking goes very wide after a minute. It’ll try to match you closely for the first minute, then prioritises getting you a match. So if you’re high rank, you’ll often see a full minute waiting, then a game. That’s how you get high rank players in lower rank lobbies.

@ItsBen321 oh god reddit is gonna have a field day. for what it's worth, this is a decade old patent that activision had for COD games that they didn't end up implementing

@ItsBen321 but either way, the easiest and simplest way to refute the rigged matchmaking claims is to ask players to identify when they are receiving the good end of it. if matchmaking is rigged, who gets given the favorables? nobody ever says things are rigged when they're winning lol

@RidiculousHat @ItsBen321 This has been brought up numerous times in the past. It has never been true. Full stop.

@IksarHS @ItsBen321 You know that You would say "no" anyway? (I don't believe in that theory, but I don't think anyone would admit to it even if it were true)

@ItsBen321 if you want to explore something crazy, I feel like I get offered heroes I have skins on more often

@G2Rdu @ItsBen321 Don’t worry, skins are not factored in at all until your hero options have been chosen from the pool
