There are two times I feel very out of sync with "the gamers": * SBMM complaints (just don't) * Why people hate on Back for Blood when it's Good, Actually

@MorelloNMST the SBMM stuff also weirds me out, I've tried to do a better job of understanding. If I was a player who was really great at a game and had played in low or no SBMM experiences previously, I could see missing the experience of crushing my enemies. Being sad about that is ok.

@MorelloNMST but to ignore the obvious upsides of including SBMM as if they those upsides don't exist? to doom a game because it has SBMM? that part baffles me a little

@IksarHS @MorelloNMST i think the distinction is people growing up with visible rank systems are incentivized to want to be among the best of the best and the grind never stops, but for people used to unranked lobbies there is no reward to getting better after an initial learning curve

@IksarHS @MorelloNMST this means people going from unranked lobbies to competitive games go from getting to feel very good at a game to always feeling like a noob, since this system constantly pushes you to be better. i dont "feel" good at any game i play regardless of what percentile i may fall at

@NopsHs @MorelloNMST yeah, certainly I get that. Though, don't you think there are some downsides with stomping over lower skilled players in order for you to feel good? Isn't it negative overall player value to make an individual feel good at the expense of many?

@NopsHs @MorelloNMST devil's advocate could be that the progression feeling you get from improving is far greater in a no sbmm approach don't just see it in your rank, you feel your power growing in your games, that's incredible! unfortunately downside imo is still too great
