Game designers and enthusiasts, I’m looking for vocabulary. I often talk about “the immersive tactile and emotional experience of playing / existing in a game, which arises natively from all of its systems pointing at that experience.” What do you call this?

@Silent0siris I typically use "resonance" to describe this (based on the analysis in David Farland's book: https://t.co/KZ9B51AxlG). Each experience/system/element resonates in the same way, building up to an incredibly strong feeling and identity for the overall work.

@day9tv @Silent0siris I always used “holistic approach” and “minimalistic” to describe design choices that only reinforce the main feeling/fantasy and cut the fat, but I think resonant is a better term for what you asked. Gotta read this asap. Thanks

@MEBImuffo @day9tv @Silent0siris Holistic is a good word for this experiential feel, that all aspects of the experience together creates the immersion. Borrowing from Dirk Gentley, you have to solve the world of the game in order to understand the game.
