Nothing much happened this episode. No major deaths. No big reveals. Half the cast shipped off to Planet Mandyville. Felt like a cop out.

A lot of the beats were things we'd already seen. The subtext only lesbian relationship played scenes we've already seen them play. The challenge of taking on a whole garrison amounts to high-fiving the guy you know who works there.

In all, this kind of felt like Episode 7, which didn't have many key set pieces but served to move characters into position for the next arc. Silver lining: it left me wanting more. A lot more.

@themattlondon Damn, I actually loved it. The speech scene had more build up and tension than any moment in TV I’ve experienced this year. The side storylines were all cliffhanger’d but the main storyline definitely moved forward. That being the start of the real rebellion.

@IksarHS Maybe it’s because narratively I expected all of that to happen. Still had great writing/acting/directing. But I’d been trained to expect more. Consider Episode 6, where I was breathless not knowing WHAT was going to happen next.
