I want to make it clear at the start that I'm not saying this to be mean and I'm not angry. I'm saying it only to help set expectations. In the recent 20.0.2 patch, a bug fix removed the ability to re-roll a small weekly quest into a larger 2500 XP "Win 5 constructed games" one https://t.co/PnFhfAKOkC

Let's say this bug represented 750 extra XP a week, on average, for most dedicated min-maxers. That's about 8.5 extra levels per expansion at the end of the reward track, or 425 gold every 4 months (assuming you didn't max it already). It's very small change. Pennies, really.

Though small, this was pure player benefit. It made no players worse off and only gave a few people a little more gold. It was removed from the game anyway, along with the bug where you could complete quests by instantly conceding games.

Why? I can only guess, but it's probably because every aspect of the monetary and engagement system in the game has to be run passed business people and data scientists who are trying to get the most return from the players. It's a very calculated system and not a "feel good" one

This company - Activision Blizzard - isn't your friend. They're not your enemy, either. They're more like gravity, but for money. (This doesn't apply to each employee; just the overall company) Expecting them to care about other things is going to be disappointing

@J_Alexander_HS For me the reason why it’s good to take this away is that having the ability to re-roll it discourages me from playing. I would have to either play less, or play other modes to avoid completing the quest so I can re-roll it into the 2500 quest the next day.

@neufjob @J_Alexander_HS This is the reason we chose to fix. Min maxing players will do anything to min max, even if it’s not fun.

@IksarHS @neufjob Would there be a problem if all quests awarded the same amount of XP? (All dailies reward X and all weeklies reward Y)

@J_Alexander_HS @neufjob When making the system we felt like having some big meaty quests and the occasional special quest that awarded more XP gave the system more texture.
