HGC cheer rewards can give you the wrong reward. Twitch will not help and say Blizz will fix it, Blizzard says they can't fix it and to go to Twitch. Buyer beware.

I'm a big esports fan and decided to get some bits and cheer for my favorite team, Dignitas.

TL;DR I cheered for Dignitas and claimed the rewards. I got the banner correctly, but instead of DIG spray I got the FNATIC spray. I never cheered team FNATIC even once.

Now I am locked out of receiving my favorite team's spray because I already "claimed" the reward, I can't "claim" it again no matter how much I cheer. And the "reward" I got was a FNATIC spray instead of DIG spray.

Now the long, explanation and transcripts of conversation. Other than these details and evidence, the relevant info is that Twitch seemingly lied to me and said "blizz is aware, they fill fix in 24 hours".

1 week later, no fix. I contact Twitch again and they say contact Blizzard they will fix. I contact Blizzard and they say they can't do anything, contact Twitch.

So basically, know that if you spend $$$$ on bits like a chump and support esports, you can get shafted and neither twitch nor Blizzard will do anything to help.

First, I spoke to Blizzard. I don't have transcripts of this original conversation. They told me they have no control over this whatsoever, and that I should contact twitch. So I did.

Here is my first letter to Twitch:

hi. there is an HGC cheer program going on. https://www.twitch.tv/blizzheroes/esports/hgc-2017

I cheered the team Dignitas and claimed the Dignitas in game spray and Dignitas in game banner.

I received the Dignitas in game Banner, however I did not receive the Dignitas in game spray.

instead I received a Fnatic spray. I never cheered Fnatic, not once.

Every other in game item I claimed is consistent with what it should be. But instead of a Dignitas spray, I got a Fnatic spray.

All this is reflected on the HGC cheer page.

I contacted Blizzard and they said there is absolutely nothing they can do about it and that I need to contact Twitch.

Dignitas is my favorite team, and I basically cant get their spray now. I claimed it and I got the wrong spray from twitch. I cant claim again. So i am stuck without it.

please help... this ruins the entire experience of the esports and cheering my favorite team

Blizzard is indeed aware of the situation and it should be fixed within the next 24hrs if it does not or if it does please let us know.

Best wishes

MY REPLY 1 week later:

As of today, STILL no resolution! Blizzard says contact twitch we cant do anything! You say Blizz will fix in 24 hrs! Week+ later, still nothing!

I cheered Dignitas and did not get DIG spray! Got FNATIC spray instead! I never cheered FNATIC ever!!! Please fix this mistake, give me DIG spray reward!!!

AUG 30, 2017 | 01:30PM PDT Justin W replied: Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us about this issue. You will need to contact Blizzard, they would be able to assist you further with HGC item related issues.

Thanks for contacting Twitch!

I CONTACTED Blizz and they said there is absolutely nothing they can do about it! They won't contact Twitch, they wont give the spray, nothing.

So I am absolutely SOL.

If I am the only one who this has happened to, then FML I am one unlucky esports fan.

If this has happened to anyone else please share your experience.

And buyer beware!

Took a little bit longer than we would have liked to fix this, should be good now.

I think he got down voted because he 'called out' the guy who actually helped him.

To be honest, Matt is probably the exact person who needs to read this kind of post, because there's clearly a dysfunction in the customer service process in HGC cheer, but it really feels like OP's attitude is 'Blizzard doesn't care' rather than 'Blizzard doesn't understand that there is/what the problem is'. If OP had responded with 'Thanks, I appreciate the help but this is still an issue - not everyone having the problem can get help here on reddit' I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't have been downvoted by 'fanboys'.

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to discourage this situation. The last thing we want is for people like Matt to see a situation like this and think 'I shouldn't help because it will trigger a negative community response because taking action outside of the regular system confirms that the regular system has actually failed'.

I don't believe there's a world where we would actively not fix something if we could, especially because of the situation you describe.

We recognize that our fans are passionate and that passion has various ways of being shown!
