Anyways, how doable would it have been to change the color of his blade to blue/red to match the other tints (red tint doesn't go very well with the green blade, much less the blue one)?
Because i'm just wondering if it was a case of "Zeratul is green single blade Protoss, we can't step away from that because it'd make him too similar to Artanis" or if it was just too hard to do and schedules didn't allow for it.
Edit: well then again Zeratul has a templar skin that makes his blade Artanis blue, so the problem was probably time
Unsure what the call on the blade was at the time. Usually there's a lot of concern about using Red FX on an allied team since that type of red usually is denoted as an enemy. I remember concern about Red fx associated to the Ronin Zeratul Skin for the same reason as well as the red heal pots for Deckard (which we still get confusion on) but we kept for lore reasons. It can be done but there are Design/readability implications.
We agree that it is better lore wise and was built with the intention to use the scythe. It does however change his animation silhouette which can lead to problems where players cannot recognize what character they are. We have done similar things in the past and have come up with a gauge of what works better in some places than others. This is just one case that couldn't flex as much as we might have liked.
Sometimes I get "What can I get for you ladies" when I'm out with my wife because I have long hair. I'm use to it. Think this is the first time I've had to turn around to show my facial hair on the internet :) Guess that's what I get for breaking social norms.
I also imagine this same concern largely affected Probius and the decision of not changing the color of his abilities (Pylons and Turrets) based on his skin.
Another little question, but what was the cause of the decision behind leaving Demonic Imperius's wings the same color regardless of skin? the Purple and Green tints look very bad with the hellish orange wings, i also think the wing size wasn't adjusted for that skin (it still is tiny when in game)
Am very curious about those 2, if you could answer, it'd be awesome
Unsure about the Demonic Imperious Wings color. The wings in character select are smaller. That's a bug. We will be fixing that in a future patch. In game it should be the same size as base Imperious.
