Could Wrath of the Angiris go over terrain?
Imperius' ultimate would feel a lot better if it went over terrain, like Falling Sword; it'd make it a lot more effective at securing kills, or enable playmaking in chokes like on Dragon Shire's siege camp.

From the technical side, for the initial lunge you are a missile (similar to Falstad Barrel Roll or Illidan's Hunt). This is because you are traveling a set distance/speed, and we know exactly where you are going to land when we fire the ability 99% of the time.
After you've picked someone up, you have control over where and how fast the missile moves, so we don't want to allow players to move over unpathable terrain to then have their characters suddenly warp back to an area of acceptable terrain.

It's not that the tech doesn't work, it does. The problem is that without really overly-designed mechanics, I don't see a way to make something like that work and be understandable.

Giving something a "footprint" akin to Structures, is what is required to make these things interact with Hanzo Scatter Arrows. That has a lot of baggage associated with it that is very technical, and not ideal for a variety of reasons.
Overall Entomb and Force Wall should behave mostly like terrain, though there are a few exceptions that aren't ideal.

Falling Sword actually doesn't go over terrain either. We don't want to let these abilities go over terrain because if they tried to land there, we'd have to use the missile redirect to warp them suddenly to a new unexpected location. Visually, it would be confusing for Johanna and her enemies.
This was especially true with Wrath of the Angiris, since we position both units very precisely, so we don't allow it to move over terrain.

A lot of us had the same opinion as you, but when we tried making it work, it didn't.
