Heroes 2.0 Q&A bulleted recap

So this is more or less the condensed Bliz responses from the latest Q&A session. Enjoy!

  • Loadout UI to be integrated into the Collection system in the future

  • "Looking into" updating older models (BW/Arthas), nothing to share at this time

  • Brawls in 2.0 will give XP for heroes that participated in the matches; Showing the XP given will be finished for 2.0's launch

  • Still very interested in a Clan system, nothing to share at this point

  • Really wanting to add "Setup a Global Announcer"

  • 'Rarity' for items now literally defines how rare these items will be distributed in the game; So it will now be determined by 'Cool factor' (For example, a hotly requested 6.5/10 spray/banner will probably be a Legendary item)

  • It's possible that in the future there will be items that cannot be crafted with shards (not currently planned)

  • No plans to do announcers for every hero, just cherry picking interesting ones

  • Plans to add a 'See All' option, to see all the mounts/banners/skins/etc without going through the sub tabs

  • Official API is still being worked on internally, more info once it's closer to launch

  • No plans for TLV revamp currently

  • On 2.0 players get 1000 gems when reaching player level 5; This will be given retroactively for everybody above that level

  • That heroes who have hit the level 20 cap in 1.0, will NOT have their lost EXP given retroactively in the conversion to 2.0 (Technically this is because such data was not being tracked)

  • Holiday themed items will not be available in Loot chests year-round, only during the events/seasons they are associated with

  • Bliz are currently happy with the drop rate in 2.0, though as with everything, it could change before launch

  • Activating hero/skin codes for things you already own will NOT give you shards for the duplicates - Nothing extra will be awarded apart from whatever the code was supposed to give. You still get all color variants of the skin from the code.

  • Not showing heroic cooldowns while having death timers in the new party frames is intended

  • No current plans to change Greymane (EDIT: specifically his trait)

  • New heroes will be released with one extra skin (on top of the basic hero skin) on launch, flexible about adding another extra skin, depending on artist ideas ("the possibility is there, but it's not required")

  • Lots of plans for new item types, including tie-ins to HGC, nothing to reveal at this time

  • Still investigating the 'overall healing output reduction' for healers, discussing the TTKs, and trying to give healers more utility focus and less healing focus in the reworks

  • There is no bias against duplicates in the loot system; Shards are ment to self-regulate duplicates

  • Contents for Loot Chests are rolled at the time they are first opened (NOT the time they are recieved) - You can hold on to chests if you wish to wait for new content to arrive first

  • There is a 'protection against bad luck', so you will not have too many low rarity items without a higher rarity drop; However, there is no protection against good luck, and you can get 4 legendaries in a common chest (obviously ridiculously rare).

  • New heroes/skins and items will debut in the featured section where they can be bought with Gems until the next batch of new content arrives and replaces them in the featured section

  • Looking into ways to increase the visibility of Armor

  • Thinking about giving players a level of customization for in-game UI, no concrete plans

  • Actively working on an Alarak update; Double cross will be baseline (the exact line was: "a certain Mildly Popular level 4 talent is making it in baseline")

  • Looking into targeting abilities via the party frames (only for allied abilities)

  • No current plans for a Raynor update (EDIT: specifically his trait)

  • No plans to disable the new features (sprays/banners/emoji); However, there are tweaks to the emojis which will limit their amount per message, as well as removing complete messages from the log when you mute someone

  • Voice chat is still a major priority, actively working on it

  • Working on improvements for the reconnect system

  • No gifting yet due to technical hurdles; though it's something they are very interested in

  • Kazakus is coming to the Nexus!! j/k, they can't really comment on any heroes currently in development.

  • Uther rework ready soon(tm), the version at the event was NOT the final version

  • No current plans to touch Medivh

  • Pie (answer to a Cake or Pie question)

When you say, "shared," do we know how that's divided up? Is each round calculated separately? Say one round you're Kael and would earn 30,000xp, and the other you're Mura and earned 50,000xp. Do they each get the exact amount for the rounds you played? Do they each get 80,000 (the sum)? Do they get split evenly, getting 40,000 each?

Maybe I'm over thinking it, but the word "shared" threw me off.

It's an even split across the heroes you played.
