Heroes balance Q/A Summary

I'm surprised that no one made it (unless I'm blind), few interesting facts there.

Hero specific:

  • Tassadar rework really soon, they’re planning to bring Archon to former glory

  • Uther is on their radar (expect something around March), they are trying to make him finally fit the tanky support fantasy.

  • They don’t have any major plans for Raynor for now, they’re fine with his kit being simple, but in future they would like to come back to his talent tree and update it.

  • Few changes coming for Greymane, drastic change to Marked for the Kill (again) to make it an opening skillshot, and some base armor (damage reduction?) when he’s in a worgen form.

  • Arthas is fine, tho unpopular in some regions, but they have some talent changes that are being tested internally which can help him.

  • No plans for changing Lunara ( possible change for Skybound to reveal stealth).

  • Valla is fine, both her Q and W build are doing well, if Q is not good enough, they will consider buffing it, or nerfing her W build (Don't do this Trikslyr)

  • Dehaka D overwrite is intended but sucks, they’re thinking about changing it. His infamous lvl 1 „agility” talent is already on their radar.

  • No response about the Archlich of Naxxramas, esteemed Lich Lord of the Plaguelands, Commander of the Dread Necropolis, Master and Founder of the Cult of the Damned, formerly of the Council of the Six, Creator of the Abomination, Summoner of Archimonde the Defiler, Betrayer of Humanity, Hearthstone Enthusiast, and Majordomo to the Lich King himself, Kel'Thuzad.

  • Thrall is in a fine spot, but they would like to update his talent tree because it lacks diversity (probably in middle of next year)

  • Mini update is coming for Azmodan, and some base movement for Lazor will probably be part of it.

  • They tested Diablo being able to activate his D, but it was leading to weird behaviour (people not ressurecting at all, because of losing power from stacks) so they cut it.

  • Anub’arak is fine as tank who counters mages, no changes planned as of now.

  • Hinterland Blast might be revisited in future to make it more viable heroic pick for Falstad

  • Li-ming will get some buffs to compensate Calamity nerf (if needed)

  • They’re happy with how the Medivh plays, but they don’t want to make many heroes that are useless to most of the audience.

  • Nova changes are not planned as of now.

  • Murky is being tested internally, so we should expect a rework in 2-3 months.

Other:

  • They don’t plan to update any of existing heroes to be a „multiclass” hero.

  • Mass support rework is not planned, but they would like to shift some healing power to rest of their kits, but some systems need to be in-game first.

  • Mount speed nerf is working well, but it made globals a bit too much popular as of now, so they’re reducing their effectiveness.

  • They’re looking at Health globes talents to make them more interesting. One of the ideas is to split quest reward. Part for gathering 20 globes, and rest for gathering 40. Those are just speculations tho.

  • Patches 2 weeks after hero release are best, they don’t want to repeat Zarya patch story (probably)

  • They’re discussing expanding hero role system, but there are far more important things as of now.

  • They’re not fans of (too)hard counters, like Tracer against Murky

  • 4 lanes map are hard to balance, but they’re thinking on making a brawl with one for testing.

  • 3 talents on tier are best for hero, because it allows to focus on more powerful options, and is healthy for talent pick and win rates.

  • They don’t want to spend time fixing heroes that are fine for 99% players, but not picked in competitive.

EDIT2: Murky

EDIT3: Bullet points (thanks /u/jamiephan )

Sometimes, things need to rest for a while. Then they can rise from the ashes, like a phoenix.
