If I remember correctly, #1 from the 4 main HGC regions gets an automatic place and then 2-6 have a playoff for the other spot.

Number 1 from the lesser regions as you said qualify

I saw that original reddit formatting ;)

You are correct! This is how the slots will be decided.

    Nice :)

So, we have two groups with:

    6(teams) * 5(series) / 2(two teams per series) = 15

series each, so 30 series(60 games) in total, over 5 days, so 6 series per day for the first week?

It will probably be a little more weighted to the earlier days of that 5 day period. We'll release the full schedule at the granular level when we get closer to the event. Your number of matches is correct as well!

This is a much better format than what we had at Western clash. Now every team is guaranteed at least ten games against five different opponents. It will also be much easier for smaller regions to show their strength, which is nice. The only drawback of this format is that it will take much longer time and we can potentially get a situation where multiple matches is airing simultaneously. But I think that's a fair trade.

We're looking to run the group stage over 5 days with the goal to play all games on a single stream.

The double-elim bracket will play over 3 days with all games on a single stream as well.
