[Illustrated] Pls Blizz give us this tint! I never asked you anything!

I think Anub'arak Love Bug is a super cool skin while two of the tints are funny and one is neutral. But this skin has potential to be badass with the right tint. So I've illustrated 3 tints and a bonus with slight modification to horns to match the themes. I'd love to impale my enemies with the black love bug tint so this is the one I'm really asking for.

    If I can, sorry to disturb but I'm super curious about this! We had a lot of great skin concepts by community but I don't remember to ever see Blizz say anything about it. So I wanted to know if art and design team see these concepts and if there is any chance that they are made or if they can use them as inspiration for a new skin. I mean, this is a great exemple since it's "just" a tint and do not need the same amount of consideration as a new model need. So any chance we see a black love bug anub?

    I’m always happy to answer questions when I can. These are cool color schemes! We love taking inspiration from our community and try to add these as options when we can.

    Let us talk more about process here. Some of the techniques we use to create textures were a bit more varied the further back in time you go. We have moved to a more standardized way of authoring texture assets. Older assets aren’t set up the same way. The artist who did that had to update the texture files to the new authoring process which takes more time on the backend. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the file for Love Bug Anub’arak. I do know it is one of the older assets and the textures need to go through this process. Color Schemes like this are not out of the question.

    Adding Geometry to make a slightly different bug is also not out of the question. Geometry added would need to fit our current polygon budget. I don’t know how many polygons Love Bug is using right now so that would need to be evaluated. We would also need to see if we have enough UV space on the texture to fit any new bits. Often times with the skins which completely change the hero from the base model we use as much texture space as we are allotted. If we didn’t leave any space for an upgrade like a horn we would have to rework the UVs and texture to add the extra geometry.

    All of this adds time. What that means for production is that we have to find a place for an artist to attack all these items. That time doesn’t come from nowhere. We’re already in deep planning for what is coming out next year. Fitting something like this in sooner isn’t unheard of but there are priorities.

    TLDR: Old stuff is old and needs to be updated for new texture variations. We love how engaged our community is and take inspiration from their requests when we can.
