Start watching from 32:30. The HotS team is open to experimenting with a solo queue HL and 2s/3s/5s TL for a season or two.

I mentioned it because it would be really cool to get feedback from players and what they think about that; if people are really psyched about it it kind of makes it easier for us to try it.

    There is a huge downside, which is 2+3 playing against 5 stacks in TL. If you think duos are unfair in HL, 5 stacks will be the only good way to play TL. There is a much bigger communication advantage in a 5 man team than in a 2+3 team (you can't even make draft tactics if you get matched with people who want to play a different style than you).

    Matchmaking accounts for team size differences already and there's no statistical difference in win rate for being on the bigger team. It just feels unfair and its quite possible that 2s and 3s vs 5s becomes the new solo vs. duo concern and we end up right where we are currently.

    One concrete concern is matching 2s and 3s in TL if we decided to try this. You need both to put a team together, but there's likely to be more 2s than 3s in the queue which could lead to long wait times for the 2s.
