Schedule & Format

A single-elimination bracket will determine the next two teams to join Team Dignitas and Fnatic in the HGC 2017 EU League.

  • Teams will play a single-elimination bracket with best-of-3 matches.
  • The semifinals will be best-of-5 matches.
  • No final match will be played.

Staturday, all matches up to the Round of 16 will be resolved. Sunday, the Round of 8 (Quarterfinals) will be played, followed by back-to-back Semifinals.

Aspiring teams will have two more chances to join the HGC 2017 EU League at Qualifiers #2 and #3.

    So you get timeouted for typing the !hgc command in the chat. Blizzard, you should maybe check your chat rules again. They are still way to strict in my opinion, but at least officially advertised commands should not be banned! NotLikeThis

    I'm honestly not sure what's going on there. It's not in any banlist that I can find, nor any wild cards. And the command does actually exist on the moobot. Extremely weird scenario, still digging!

    So the official Blizzard Twitch channel is the only place to watch these qualifiers? I think it would be better if premier casters casted premier games and allowed for other casters do games for lesser known teams. Was this done simply for the amount of work the tournament admins had to do or is Blizzard trying to protect their brand?

    That is what we are doing. Check the other thread to see the language streams or simply head to twitch and check it out yourself.
