Championship Kha'Zix Chroma not as Advertised

I bought the team liquid chroma for championship kha'zix and I am extremely disappointed because it looks nothing like the picture. Here is the comparison https://imgur.com/f8U9Zkd . You can clearly see the differences between two but this is not the case for some others like the c9 one. Comparison here https://imgur.com/gallery/tkC7gOJ . Note I have evolved q, w, and e because non evolved kha with chroma looks exactly like the non chroma championship skin. Overall I do enjoy the skins... I just wish that I got what was in the picture because it looks so much better ;-;.

Please tell me how to refund then caus i only bought 3 chromas caus they looked frekin' sick in the shop. Team Liquid and MAD do not look like they have been shown to me even the third ( i think its fnatic ) does look different. all 3 look more like the default skin than shown.

You should be able to refund TL Chroma by messaging player support, or refund using the refund option in the client.

The other two images are the same texture as in game.

I understand it's a pretty difficult one. Over the top of my head I can't think of a perfect solution, but that's a bit sad because I think the chromas are gorgeous, the gold effect is just a bit weird.

I guess the idea would've been to make it less noticeable on the chromas only (if that's possible), but again that's a lot of work and I'm not even sure if you guys have the tech to do that. Even then, maybe some people like the glowing gold effect.

Other than that, the last few years I was really surprised by the lack of esport content available in-game to support the teams and to drop the mission pass idea, so this time I'm so stoked to see Riot finally try something big like that. I think it'll be a big part of the future, so I'm confident that the next time you'll find a better way to implement this VFX issue.

This isn't really fixable unless we touch the VFX. This is something we have been discussing as a team to grow the scope/ helping the artists learn/take on more. Thus, it may be a possibility in the future :)

In general, it is a priority thing. Do we put VFX artist (Very limited hire due to the nature of league) on skins or Chroma team :P Unlike other games, league is mostly hand painted. There is a good youtube video that explains League VFX somewhere. Thus, it very work intensive.

For the team, we think the best option for us may be just going in learning. However, currently we do not have the full capabilities.

No you’re making the ingame model to the store image. Just like you had to fix Jinx on her release. Made her look like the art. You didn’t remake the art cause the model was whack.

The store images for chromas are taken using the model.

While that is true, even the colour selection of the chroma does NOT indicate any gold and it really looks like the TL chroma's data just got switched with the data for the golden chroma. Absolutely sure TL requested gold (just wondering, because i don't think their Logos show gold anywhere iirc)? If so, sad. :/

They gold is to offset the Golden VFX, which we cannot change for the chroma.

i realize a request from a random guy on reddit is a long shot, but any chance you guys might look into making the isolation animation a little less like GA? theyre really similar and my mind just associates the glowing white circle around someone with having to kill them twice instead of them being vulnerable to extra damage

I will let the team know! However, I think the time for making these types of changes have passed. Usually, changes and feedbacks like this (non-gamebreaking) are taken into consideration during PBE. Once things are live, it is harder to change.

You guys should show the gold VFX in the shop then, because this definitely change the whole aesthetic of the chromas. The TL one looks pretty meh in game honestly, I would feel awful playing it after seeing him in the shop.

Generally we do not change VFX for chromas. Its a good suggestion to show ambient vfx in store. However to my understanding it is extremely difficult to represent VFX aesthetic in a still image. It is after all about the consistent glow effect. We could paint a fake one to represent "glowingish" but that require an artist to personally touchup every store card and I think some will also say we shouldn't "touch up" >w< Its a difficult one.

why is there no super chroma bundle for kha zix?

Kha is an eSport product. Thus the expectation is for players to pick one or two of their favorite teams to purchase.

C9 Chroma - This one is not bugged. Kha has a golden VFX overlay.

TL Chroma - This is the bugged because of the wrong store image. We are working to fix this.
