Positioning A Unit Between Two Other Attacking Units

Proper positioning of units during attacking/blocking is very important in LoR, but during the preview patches this felt a little clunky. At the moment, you can't just take out an attacking unit and place it between 2 other units. This problem starts when you have at least 3 units, but it becomes especially time-consuming when you have 5 or 6 units. For example; say I have 5 units; 1 2 3 4 5. Now, say unit 2 has a support effect, and I realized that supporting unit 5 would be better. I can't just take 2 out and drop him between 4 and 5. I'd have to take out all units except 1, and then I'd have to position them all again. It gets even more annoying if I wanted to support 5 with 2, but between 3 and 4. So, 1 3 2 5 4. Add a 6th unit and this becomes a mini-game in itself.

I think it'd be nice if you could just take out a unit and drop it between other units. That way, if I wanted to support 5 with 2, I could just do it with one action. Just drag and drop. To make it clearer where my unit would be positioned, it'd be nice if the two cards would part just a little bit. So, if I were to drag 2 and hover it above 4 and 5, they'd move apart creating a little gap between them, indicating that this is where your unit will go if you drop it. This could use a timer so that you can't just abruptly move a unit from left to right causing the entire attacking board to shake because of the parting animation being triggered all over the place. Requiring a half-second hover for the parting animation to trigger could be something.

There's a similar case with challengers. Say I'm attacking with two challengers; 1 2. I drag a blocker to 1, but realize that it'd be better if it blocked 2 instead. I can't just drag it from 1 and drop it in front of 2. I'd have to put it back on the bench, to then be able to drag it to 2. That feels like an unnecessary step. If 2 already had a blocker, then I understand why I'd have to put it on the bench first. But honestly, even in that case, you could just make it so that if you drop the blocker from 1 onto the blocker from 2, the game automatically kicks 2's original blocker to the bench. All you have to do then is drag the kicked blocker to 1. This kicking mechanic could also be useful when you're the one doing the blocking. For example, if you change your mind about a unit blocking an attacker, just grab another unit and drop it. The game would then kick the original blocker to your bench, making it easy for you to quickly position it somewhere else. Also, we can even combine this challenger scenario with the above example with the 5 attacking units. I don't see why a challenged blocker couldn't move along in parallel with it's challenged attacker during the parting animation.

I think these changes could save a lot of time, since having to put everything back on the bench just so you can put them back in battle feels unnecessary and time-consuming. Also, it's only natural that you stop and double check your board after placing your blockers/attackers to make sure you positioned everything right. The way it is right now, making a mistake during attacker/blocker positioning could end up in you rushing to put everything back on the field, or worse; it could cost you your turn, and you'd end up with less blockers/attackers than you wanted.

Hello! Just a quick fixed that for you....

It's a known issue and they said they'd be working to fix it in time for launch! at some point in the future.

You are right that it is a known issue. I wish I could say that rearranging attackers will be ready for launch, but we have plenty of other work that takes precedence including getting ready for mobile.
