Is there an ELO in normal?
Just curious about this. I play normal because I can't stand ladder most of the time, but the competition I get in Normal is all over the place. I am mostly a janky player and just want to play fun decks, but I find when I queue into normal I get a lot of try harding, aggro, and people who have diamond season ending icons etc.
It's a bit confusing - I don't ever climb out of bronze but sometimes find myself playing jank on ladder just to get a break from Normal because at least I know in bronze the TF/Fizz I'm playing against will be terrible at piloting which might get me a win. For reference, my experience today was aggro/aggro/aggro/aggro/fiora shen/aphelios. I conceded each match and put the game away for a week/month/year because this isn't an uncommon occurrence. Two of them had Plat/Diamond season of plunder icons, which kinda indicates experienced players at a decently high level.
Really think there should be an actual casual where people with horrible W/L ratios can just jank if out and enjoy the game.
Just curious if anyone knew.

Hi! We do have matchmaking logic that is separate from Ranked! There are pros and cons to this system. This is for better matchmaking experience because it is for matching players of similar skill levels.
I think some things might be happening in your situation:
1) Even with your Jank decks you might be a really good player! It will try to match you with players of similar skill caliber from past normal games.
2) Some ranked players do not have enough games in normal to gauge skill level. Your opponents might be settling into their MMR.
3) Player's rank in Ranked Queues is not accounted for in Matchmaking. They might be trying new decks/goofing around in normal queues. There is no good way for matchmaking to determine if you will play your next game seriously, so it will match based off of previous behavior. Their Rank does not indicate how they have been playing in normals.
A ranking does not indicate they are not playing casually in normals queue.
