What happens when I flicker Gadwick, The Wizened? What happens when I clone him with Inalla?

The rules change update posted here states, " Gadwick, the Wizened gets a new 107.3k rule to clarify that its triggered ability looks at the value X that comes from the spell it was, not the permanent it is." Does this mean I can flicker him with a spell like Ghostly Flicker and get to draw X cards? Similarly, What happens when I use Inalla, Archmage Ritualist to make a clone Gadwick? Do I draw cards from the clone?

For reference, the new rule 107.3k:

107.3k If an object’s enters-the-battlefield triggered ability or replacement effect refers to X, and the spell that became that object as it resolved had a value of X chosen for any of its costs, the value of X for that ability is the same as the value of X for that spell, although the value of X for that permanent is 0. This is an exception to rule 107.3h.

The answer is No to both. When you flicker Gadwick, he becomes a new permanent with no memory of his previous existence. Since this new instance was not cast as a spell, it has no value for X to key off of, therefore X is zero. Likewise, a clone of Gadwick from Inalla would not have a value of X chosen for it, and was also not cast, so it would also treat X as zero. If you were to use a normal [[Clone]] on Gadwick, it also would not have a value of X to refer to.

Of course, the real question is what happens if you [[Altered Ego]] a [[Gadwick, the Wizened]]... I'm still thinking nothing, but 107.3k might have opened an unintentional loophole... u/EliShffrn care to comment?

Nothing. Another rule handles Altered Ego not porting its X over after copying something, I had it in 107.3k too but cut it after finding the other one.
