Cross-played Ral Zarek...the smirk (still) needs work

Given the angle at which Ral's picture has the glowing breastplate~ish item at, it looks like it would have been boob-smooshingly awkward to have it go up to her neck.

RE: Costume mods...the original design I made was true-r to the illustration but also rather uncomfortable. Also, crafting armor with compound curves is simply very difficult to do well vs. just leaving that area open (the build was completed from design to finish within 13 days). I do sincerely apologize to those who aren't fans of the changes and/or find them exploitative (personally I like that kind of aesthetic although I understand it can make others uncomfortable). This was my first time making a costume from a pre-existing character, and it's unlikely I will again due to the standards that a lot of fans have for characters that they are understandably very fond of. I like fantasy characters a lot too and I don't intend to disrespect what they represent to people. For the Ral character in particular, I felt that if he would be female he would have some sort of wink wink kind of aesthetic to the crossed gender character.

My main goal with a lot of the costume work that I do is the integration and control of electronics (I'm a research engineer for medical diagnostics in my day job) with interesting shapes and colors.
Also I just think it's fun to do, and I like bringing my own fantasy worlds a little closer to reality. I like to see others' costume work for the same reasons :)
