Kamigawa Remix
Welcome to Kamigawa Remix! This is a new Draft format coming only to Magic Online for a week starting April 20 that features cards from all four Kamigawa sets! So, if you've ever wanted to open a pack with both Kabuto Moth and Voltage Surge, read on!
In Kamigawa Remix, the timelines of original Kamigawa block and Kamigawa Neon Dynasty are colliding! In this format, you'll see an equal representation of cards from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty and the original Kamigawa block of sets Champions of Kamigawa, Betrayers of Kamigawa, and Saviors of Kamigawa collectively. You also won't see every single card in all four of these sets but rather just the cream of the crop from each set for drafting:
Imagine seeing all these cards in the same pack!
To accommodate all these timelines combining in one pack, packs are overcharged! What this means is that in each pack of Kamigawa Remix you will find:
- 1 Rare or mythic rare from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty
- 1 Rare from among Champions of Kamigawa, Betrayers of Kamigawa, and Saviors of Kamigawa
- 3 Uncommons from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty
- 3 Uncommons from among Champions of Kamigawa, Betrayers of Kamigawa, and Saviors of Kamigawa
- 4 Commons from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty
- 4 Commons from among Champions of Kamigawa, Betrayers of Kamigawa, and Saviors of Kamigawa
- 1 Land that has a 50/50 shot of being a basic land or a "gainland" that enters the battlefield tapped from the Tranquil Cove cycle
That's seventeen cards in each booster pack! As usual, mythic rares will replace a rare in the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty slot at the normal rate you're accustomed to. But if you were around during the time of the original Kamigawa block, mythic rarity hadn't quite been invented yet. However, for Kamigawa Remix, a certain Equipment from Betrayers of Kamigawa has been given the honorary "mythic rare" treatment and will appear as if it was a mythic rare in the original Kamigawa block rare slot.
Yep—still good.
In addition, to really bring home the idea that timelines are merging, there's even a cycle of rares included on the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty side from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Commander!
As always, no matter if your feedback was from 1,000 years ago or made using the new technology of today, we here on Magic Online team read it, so keep at it! Streets of New Capenna releases on Magic Online immediately upon the conclusion of Kamigawa Remix, so get ready to choose your family and figure out where Halo comes from on Magic Online! You can always check out the Magic Online schedule on our Calendar here.
Thank you again for joining us for this adventure through the past and present of Kamigawa, and we hope you enjoy playing this rather unique take on drafting on Magic Online. So, until next time, may your past be well remembered, your future be bright, and your present be exactly what you want it to be.
