Faster Matching (match anyone)

So I'm curious what the "faster matching (match anyone)" checker does. I had assumed it being off would keep you from matching people significantly higher in the ladder than you, but I'm silver 7 and just played against a gold 9 player, so if I'm wrong I'd like to know what it does.

    Even in ranked you have the option to match with AI or casual players. If that happens is the game not counted towards rank or do you get ranked points despite not playing vs. ppl who entered into a ranked game?

    You still get ranked points. Ranked points for playing vs AI are much lower. Ranked points for playing against a casual player are based on their MMR.

    That's about the limit of how far away you can be matched without "faster matchmaking" enabled. The matchmaker takes a bunch of things into account though, like time in queue, loss streak, a random jitter, etc.
